Do you feel reassured that this ship will be righted?

Does the absence of personnel moves, comments from players that 'this will get fixed,' 'we will fix it,' etc. make you feel better? I do, somewhat.

One game is not a sufficient sample size from which you can draw any conclusions. This team is easily more talented than they were last year. That doesn't guarantee success, but I feel confident that they will indeed right the ship.

If they look bad against Minnesota I will start to worry, but not panic. If they look bad against Minnesota and Oakland, then it may be time to panic.

As long as McDaniels is calling plays and that offensive line plays like it did in the 2nd half I will never be reassured.

Brady being Brady. Yes.

McDaniels game plan and play selection. No.

This is a team with a lot of talent. More talent on it this time of the year than last....One game, 6% of the season is not an indicator of the whole season. I can't explain what happened in Miami -- but I expect they will right the ship. They always do.

Look at last year: losing guys left and right, rookie receivers.

I know it was just one game and the pats usually have one or two games a year where they have one glaring weakness that is exposed. I saw three on Sunday.

Maybe the O-line and D-line will get fixed but I don't see how the receiver situation gets better. I mean it is pretty alarming that Edleman is the #1 receiver on this team and it is even more alarming that Brady is trying to throw deep to him.

Honestly, I prefer to start with a shock that puts light on a handful obvious problem area, to starting with a win in spite of those issues. The latter often makes for situations were issues are seen less problematic and come down to bite you later in the season.

I hope that this shakes away all those elite team predictions inside the heads of our players and makes them earn everything instead of taking it for granted just because we are the New England Patriots and we have been the most constantly successful football team for over a decade.

Why is Incognito still not in a pats uniform ? Just bring him in for the attitude, he is exactly what this O line needs at this point. Until they figure out and fix what is wrong with O line, all the talent they have they have is just on paper. We will have to wait and see what they do this week against Vikings.

Fix the O-line and the receiving corps is more than adequate, especially when Dobson gets back. Receivers don't look very good when the QB has 1 second to throw the damned ball.

Because he is Incognito, and really that is all the reason the pats need for him to not be in their locker room.

Is there a better guard available in the market at this time? I'm not sure and what ever crap he pulled in dolphins locker room is not going to fly here. He will be a BIG upgrade over who is starting at this position.

Basically this.

The first game did leave me with some major concerns that I think will dog this team for the season (namely the interior line and the inability to stop the run), but I think it's stupid to start declaring this a lost season. Every team has it's weaknesses, and the key will simply be mitigating them as best as possible, until we can redress them (via signing players, draft, etc). We are gonna be in for a rough first half of the season, since this team is gonna be slow to realize it's potential, but I think we'll be in pretty good shape by December.

Right now, however, the only other team than New England that matters to me is Minnesota.

For now, I'm confident that we'll bounce back. He have glaring flaws, but we also have a top notch staff. If we can resolve at least half our problems, and by that i mean half of these: Receiver-QB chemistry, QB's accuracy (Brady did not play well, but neither did the team), O Line Pocket, O Line Blocking, Hole-filled DL, Poor tackling, lack of pass rush (Honestly, i only felt that the secondary was ok, which is tremendous considering the rest) and maybe others that i don't remember, then we'll be ok.

If however, we do not resolve it, and we get in any kind of jeopardy against yet another mediocre team, then it's time to review everything, because much of these problems are NOT recent

I think some people here are forgetting that our coaches had no real game film of the 2014 Dolphins to prep for. Not making excuses about last week, but we all know how well our coaches prepare and strategize. There's a big difference in Week 1 game-planning and Week 2 game-planning. They'll study the game film from last week and devise a solid plan on how to stop AD and the Vikings.

The players just need to execute.

Almost every year, if not quite, Miami and the Jets, no matter their record, manage to pull off a split with the Pats. We all wanted to get off right, but the loss did not surprise me too much.

As to Incognito, I think the posts above are over-rating his abilities. Miami certainly did not consider his loss of much importance at all.

Rarely have the belichick patriots lost two in a row so we should expect a win sunday vs a 5 win team from last season. If we see the same crap - brady forcing to gronkowski and Edelman, defense getting no pressure, playing the f#cking same belichick sh#t bend but don't break zone garbage...then coach charisma gonna have some 'splainin to do....

ummmmm....miami had the same amount of 2014 game film on the pats....

its the first game of the season they will make the playoffs, but they do have real problems on this team with much better coaching they can hide some of them but they are not going to go away

I get that... I think you missed the point. Week 2 game-planning is a lot different than going into the season dry. I trust that Belichick and the coaching staff can devise a solid game plan that can lead us to victory this week if the players execute.

I feel like the week leading up to the SuperBowl; analysts, the media, and us as fans will be saying "Remember the Patriots week 1 loss against the Dolphins?"

I am not very optimistic at this point. If it were just schemes, missed assignments and
over pursuing type errors I would be more optimistic. But what I saw was PATS Dline and Oline
guys being pushed around like a 3 man practice sled. How do you fix that?? Can you somehow
grow these men 10 to 15 lbs of muscle each? It was brute strength against mediocre strength.
Our Dline guys couldn't get off their blocks except occasionally. Miami would have run all
day on us if their QB wasn't getting board handing it off. This reminds me 2002. (there, I vented)
