im starting to get a little bit giddy, i heard a sports reporter for the washington post call for goody two shoes to step down

if I was a sports media member I'd be staked out on the front door of NFL Headquarters on Park Avenue NYC and document the comings and goings of every suit that enters and leaves. I can see ol' Rog up there in his suite, sweating bullets as the best spin doctors in the world try to figure out an exit strategy.

Does TMC have the smoking gun proof?? Goodell HAS TO KNOW one way or the other. The silence is DEAFENING.

If TMZ promise holds up, Roger is toast! Don't see how he slithers out of this one. Cover up is pretty bad, maybe worse than the act itself. Never thought it would go down this way but love it !!

Sports talk radio on the way home today in DC were talking about Goodell stepping down. Cooley, who was one of the talking heads, theorize that there is no way in hell the NFL, with all its resources and connections, did not know this video existed or that someone within the league did not see it. They just assumed it was not going to be released. But with the Casino going bankrupt, the idea of the video getting released became more of a reality and thus the reason why Goodell made a preemptive move to change the punishment for domestic violence to something more severe.

It sounded crazy, but you just never know. Either way, for this goofball Goodell to be all about high morals, integrity, and all that BS only to be exposed for the fraud and hypocrite he really is would be awesome.

I'm pretty sure Goodell is toast. It's all over CNN tonight with multiple member panels going on at length. When the chattering class turns on you, it's over.

I'll believe it when it happens, but it would be aptly ironic if Goodell finally got burnt by his own weasley behavior.

Yup, he was just trying to cover his own ass by changing the domestic violence penalty. But even that looked bad in light of Rice still getting only a two-game suspension. Imagine if that video never went public.

That's really ironic coming from Ravens fans. "Where's Ray's suit?"

Clearly if Goodell had seen this vid he should be gone.

My main concern is Rice's wife I hope she isn't taking more beatings over this. The news conference where she apologizes for her part in getting beat up by Rice is especially chilling, battered spouse syndrome. Terrible.

Miguel can correct me if I'm wrong here, but as I understand it (using #s from spotrac.com):

1. His remaining salary for 2014 on, which was not guaranteed, disappears.

2. He was paid a $15M signing bonus in 2012 prorated over five years, so he has $3M each year from that.

3. He was paid a $7M option bonus in 2013 prorated over four years, so he has $1.75M each year from that.

4. He has no other bonuses that I'm aware of.

So, what should happen is this:

Current hits:
2014 $8.28M after removing his forfeited salary
2015 $7.75M
2016 $7.75M

New hits:
2014 $4.75M (for a player who didn't play a down)
2015 $9.5M (for a player who won't play a down)
2016 $0

Well, yes -- and/or she was trying to protect their multimillion-dollar lifestyle, which might be why she didn't pursue the criminal charges and married him shortly thereafter.

The ironic thing is that the couple reportedly was making progress in healing their relationship through counseling before the video became public today.

"Rog honey...there's someone knocking at the door....see who it is while I put on my Dior gown and Cartier diamonds, will you darling..?"

Rog opens the door and...."ACK!"....Land Piranhas...

Just in the last couple of years, we've seen the Saints head coach and DC suspended for a season because of the bounty program, Irsay Jr. suspended for 6 games and fined $500K for OUI and the Seahawks fined $300K for "excessive contact" during minicamp.

I don't know if anything will happen to him, but if Goodell is holding everyone to a standard, some heat should be coming his way for bungling this situation.
