Amendola's snap count

10 Million guaranteed. lmfao. Is there any other team in the league who would have given this scrub that deal? Man, if it weren't for Welker and Moss, Bill would be like 0 for ALL in picking WR's. Julian's progression was more organic imo. A result of spending so much time developing with Tom and Wes.

Love Bill to death, but man, I dont know what he see's in some of these guys.

Kenbrell Thompkins is a better player than Amendola and should be seing more snaps nuff said! This Team needs a outside WR in the worse way sure glad they kept Brian Tyms. If we cannot consistenly connect on the outsides we are going to be predictable to good Teams.

Brandon LaFail is not much better.

Amendola played in the slot. Brady didn't throw to him.

LeFell and Thompkins had lots of opportunities. They were pretty bad.

Edelman has a fine game as our clear #1 receiver.

When Gronk is the field more, the WR's will be on the field less.

With the emergence of Edelman as a trustworthy WR in Brady's eyes, how good would this offense be with Edelman, Gronk and Welker with KT/Dobson on the outside? Much better than Lafell and Amendola out there.

I'm trying to figure out how a television viewing fan with no access to the trainer or medical staff can say with absolute certainty the precise time when a player's injury was fully healed, and no longer had any adverse effect on his performance.

Maybe I should stay at a Holiday Inn Express more often, so that I too can gain this insightful knowledge?

Amendola was a horrible signing in comparison to accepting Welker's offer to match the Denver deal.

BUT I was still holding out hope Amendola would be a good player --

I didn't understand why the patriots would have him play the whole season with a groin injury at a supposed fraction of his normal abilities, when 2 months of rest could've put him back at 100%

But given yesterday's game, as healthy, falls in line with his typical production of last year, I'm now wondering if the groin injury was just made up.

Neither the Pats nor Amendola every talked about the injury, the media just assumed it.

And yesterday's game falls in line with his last season production; so maybe this is just the real Amendola -- that his Rams days were his peak.

Maybe we could ask the commish to forgive Welker with his 10 concussions for his four game suspension so we can have him back.

There were a lot more problems in that game than the WRs. when amendola was signed, Edelman was a punt returner who had flashed for a couple weeks at receiver not a 100 catch guy who's profile was similar. The receiver corps and Brady need to sort things out.

Brady was trying to get the rust off gronk, La fell is a bruiser who will have his uses. He's probably stronger than our new tight end. KT should develop and Dobson is ready to work his way in. Eds and Amendola will develop different uses. right now eds has Brady's trust more than anyone (including gronk. Others will pick it up.

I'm of the opinion that even Brady only has 3-4 go to guys at the max, so that will need to shuffle out. they ran their offense flawlessly one series, but will need some week, with better protection, to work it like a well oiled machine again. Also, getting the quick passing offense going will help the O line.

Sucks that they lost a game they still could have won with a better effort, but any team that turns it's players over (as opposed to one that keep all it's players until they have big contracts while their play deteriorates, then collapses in a heap) is going to have "getting acquainted" issues like we are at receiver, and both lines.

You know of course that Patriots offered Welker more money on two occasions, however both time Welker's agent rejected the offer and overestimated the value of WW, so the offers were withdrawn... thus he accepted a contract for less money in Denver.

If Amendola somehow threw the ball to himself this thread might make more sense, but all of the conclusions are based on numbers not what his role was gameplanned and all the coverages that Miami was playing...

IMO you need more info before you can draw some of these conclusions..

And what exactly did Thompkins and LaFell do yesterday that should have earned them more time over Amendola? Just about every receiver other than Edelman was off in that game, and I have a hard time truly evaluating a WR's play when the pressure on Brady rendered every other pass completely irrelevant and the running game was non-existent. Those same conditions made Welker and Moss near worthless in Super Bowl 42 too. QB can't stay up, WR's can't catch passes.

I'm not going to go blaming any of the receivers just yet (except maybe LaFell, and even in his case it's not his fault that he was miscast). The passing game looked ugly because the pass protection sucked. None of our receivers looked good in the second half, and sure, Amendola was no exception.

LaFell had 1 more opportunity than Amendola, and yes he did not do well, but it was his first game with the Patriots not his second season.

Thompkins did not do poorly, unless we were watching different games, outside of Edelman and Vereen he was the only option that resembled anything effective.

Brady threw to Amendola 5 times, it equated to 16 yards in production. I do not blame Brady for throwing elsewhere.

LaFell was useless yesterday.

KT and Amendola were often open if you watch the tape, they are just third and fourth options. Brady simply had no time to ever get them the ball.

KT in particular had a good game basically catching 5 of 6 catchable balls. He only started struggling a bit later when the Dolphins had 6+ DBS on the field. He is best thought of as a Brandon Lloyd/O chocinco type player and is not supposed to be a primary option.

If you really want to blame a receiver, then it would have to be Gronk who simply didn't explode the coverage like he often does with his deep post routes. That would of forced a safety deep to avoid clogging up the middle.

That of course wouldn't be fair, bc it was also our inability to run the football and our inability to protect Brady vs a 4 man front that allowed the Dolphins to drop everyone in coverage

Yea, well let's just hope that Tommy can still make the throws needed to make a deep threat an asset for us. Because it sure didnt look like it yesterday. He overshot a wide open KT in the EZ for a lay up 6, and Edleman for another one at about the 5. Brady drops that one in and Jules walks into the EZ.

Well, he wasn't on the injury report, hence the television viewing audience should assume he has no injury. The television viewing audience assumed he did last year cause the media reported he did, but now it's becoming evident he did not have any lingering injury last year, he just sucked.

LaFell:

47 snaps, 6 targets, 0 receptions, 2 penalties.

Lots of guys had ugly stats yesterday, but in a sea of ugliness this stands out.

Never liked the Brandon Lafell signing one bit

I do not think the play would have happened if LaFell did not clear out the defender as he did so the call was probably legit, one of the few legit calls against the Patriots.

Brady6 why do you have to show up And sling mud at Amendola every time he is mentioned. Your even all for taking his reception away. Leave amendola alone dude. Its bad enough you take shots at him and insult him on your own. But now others are beating him up you have to show up and kick him while he is down. He has a bad game so you have to take your opportunity to drag him around the mud and hit him while he is snagging an off target throw. The whole team played horrible and Brady had no time to throw but you have to blame amendola. Leave him alone and let him play his game. If oline plays well and amendola doesn't then say something but don't kick him while he's down after a bad game. I found out he set a record for first half receptions with Bradford throwing him the ball. I bet you would have kicked him last year after bush hit him and knocked him out.

Just playing, like when everybody noticed and said of course Amendola makes your list of potential cuts lol

To get 77 yards & 0 TDs against that dumpster fire of a Colts D? Aside from the rave reviews from the commentators he didn't actually impact the game all that much.
Seriously? He made a couple nice plays and make YAC turn into first downs for the offense.
