I've been nowhere near the Goodell hate train but his whole stupid ****ing 'new sheriff in town' act was all well and good until he looks the other way and gives a cursory suspension to a player who knocked the **** out of his wife.

I'm on board now, though.

It's sad how the nfl can see that and only hand out a 2 game suspension. All I gotta say is that the nfl really messed this one up.

This is the NFL. I have no doubt the NFL got hold of that video awhile ago.

Maybe Herr Goodell might have changed his mind if Rice brutalized 8 women instead of one.. Or if he were somehow taking marijuana whilst beating his wife, or if he taped his neighbors sidelines...

I'm really amazed so many people found the self-defense line plausible given the size difference between these two. It is horrific how quickly this was initially dismissed. I'm glad this got leaked. I'm sure the NFL did everything they could to cover this up. Makes me sick.

It's really bad given the "violence" she used...hell, my wife would smack me harder if I said he ass looks big. That's just pure coward on Rice's part as all beaters are.... Then he just drags her out and kind of kicks her legs to the side trying to get her out of the doorway... No way that was his first time hitting a woman and it won't be his last.

The sad thing is they were cheering him in the preseason. Maybe the video will change their minds (talking about the home fans) but I suspect not.

I love football and other sports but between the money they're paid and the way they're treated by the public, there's something very, very wrong.

So what do you guys think are the chances that anything changes with respect to Ray's 2 game suspension (honestly he should be facing jail time)? I'm guessing this has zero impact unless there is massive outrage. But I'm still seeing apologist comments out there so I'm doubting anything comes of this.
