Let's all settle down

Man....ive got to say you pretty much summed it up in a 5 sentence paragraph here...... BB has not had a dominating defense since Romeo left.......he has had NO PRESSURE on the QB since then.....MCD is not getting it done......but it all starts with BB. Lets see what the next several games hold before passing any judgement.........but realize that you will NEVER see a smashmouth, dominant defense again here in the BB era......He has a different approach apparently ............Tought for a fan to watch........

Patriots offensive line sucks, our run defense is non existent, tackling was horrible. We were beat in all 3 phases of the game. Brady was getting mauled out there against second string LBers. There is some concern with this team right now. McDaniels needs to go! Horrible OC and same with Patricia. You put Chandler Jones out there as a 3-4 DE? It didn't work last year and it wont work now.

Why the **** would I settle down ? The same problems that have plagued this team since the last championship are still here. Brady was sacked more times last year than he had been in 13 years, was the offensive line weakness addressed ? No, in fact our best offensive lineman was traded away. This team couldn't stop anyone from running the ball down their throats, was it addressed ? Nope, let's resign a 34 fat lineman who blew out his Achilles and not sign anyone to help the interior line. Oh of course we draft an undersized DT with knee problems. I love Revis , but would have rather we signed some offensive lineman and defensive linemen instead of leaving our team in the hands of UDFA linemen on both sides of the ball.

I have every right to be pissed off. This team gets it's ass kicked EVERY time they face a physical team since 2005. No passion, no swagger, our defense has sucked since the last championship team, has not come up with key stoppages, we can't run the ball, the Brady magic is gone, no big plays from him save New Orleans and Denver last year. This was an embarrassing loss, and there are no in season moves that can fix what is wrong with this team. Bad drafting, bad coaching, bad GM'ing. Just a ****ing embarrassment. Most overrated team in football, all the ball washing from the experts, and this team can't beat the teams they are allegedly better than.

We have a 50 ****ing page thread about how the Jets suck, guess what, our Pats aren't better. We are in last place and deserve to be there. Even the ****ing Bills won.

Also, why the **** wasn't Dobson active, why the **** is he playing the last preseason game if he's not ready for the regular season. I really question Belichick's effectiveness. Supposed defensive genius has reigned over ****ty defenses for 10 years. He should be ****ing embarrassed. If he can't get his team foaming at the mouth for the 1st game of the year, something is wrong. This team is mentally weak, and he has to take the blame. What a ****ing disgrace.

And any of you who wanna hide your heads in the sand, be my ****ing guest, but you're are all naive. And yes I will eat my words if the Pats win the SB, hell they 'd be lucky to make the playoffs and win a playoff game. ****ing disgrace.

Also, where is the genius and his 2nd half adjustments ? He has sucked at 2nd half adjustments since the 2006 AFCCG, hell, I pretty much knew they were gonna blow this game with BB's ****ty 2nd half adjustments.

For the most part this thread is....."Ding ding ding........we have a WINNAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" You are dead on sir...............

It can't be healthy to get this worked up over a week 1 loss.

Gronk didn't play a snap in the preseason and yet was given the green light.

Gronk was practicing with the team since almost day one of TC.
Apples and oranges. Or, I don't know, you're welcome to think that BB held him out just because.

I was joking. He could not win the preseason game against the third string Giants.

Excellent point. He couldn't win against the Giants 3rd string when playing with the Pats 4th string. A revelation.

I think u will have a hard time disputing that BB has won NOTHING since Crennel and Weis left.......Right Ivie? Can't argue that point.....it is a FACT........

Absolutely. And the three Lombardi's and winning percentage absolutely reflect that. he's terrible.

great post brotha.......don't always agree with you ....but do today.......thanks

To be honest, I really don't care what people think about what I say. They can agree or disagree, it still doesn't matter to me. I'm a very strong believer in saying what you feel and standing behind it if you feel strongly about it. I feel very strongly about what I said. Like I said before, been a fan longer than a lot of people here have been alive. And if the Pats suck, I say so. I will always stick with my team though. Hell I used to get excited when the Pats were on TV here in NY or when I lived in San Francisco, even if they were 5-11 or 1-15. Still get excited and happy when they are on TV in NY. But I'm going to speak my mind, I don't wear rose colored glasses, never have never will.

Remind me about the success Romeo and Weiss had without Bill...

You mean other than 2 AFC Championships and a ton of games?

the two Super Bowl losses were on the team, not Belichick, he's the best in the business and pretty much everyone other than some delusional Patriot fans realizes that.

I am happy for you guys though, they sucked today and it is clearly making a number of you very very happy. Glad they made your day, i was disappointed by it.

I don't see how that matters he should have been able to win if you are believe he would have won today.

Whatever dude. You have never, ever met an argument you didn't win.

Ah not true my wife wins them all even when I'm right.

Just so you know I have no beef with you I just think you misunderstand the intentions of some of my posts. I think you offer a lot of quality points. You obviously are a big Pats fan as am I so lets not mix each other up as if we are on different sides.

Do you all think any players will be on the chopping block this week?

I wouldn't mind seeing Aiken and Don Jones swapped out for Hughlett and Quarles. Maybe we see Kline active next week instead of Devey.

Beyond that, I don't think anything will be done. I know we all want Vellano fired into the surface of the sun, but the coaching staff seems to think he's an NFL caliber starting DL.

I doubt Belichick will make any kneejerk moves but will continue the end of the roster moves he has been engaged in since the end of the pre-season, however i would love to see him send wendell packing and i really don't get having Vellano in there, he sucks.

I got back from church around 4pm and watched the Pats vs Miami game on Tivo. In regard to the Pats performane against the dolphins. I was disappointed in what I saw. The Pats Offensive Line wasn't tackling well, they were giving up lots of yardage, some throws were NOT being completed/converted etc.. However, this is only 1/16th of the season done so I am optimistic that things will get better for the Pats.

The Pats lost because of a poor showing by the entire team. I am sure the offensive/defensive coordinated and the Head Coach will get together watch film and try to come up with a better game plan next week. Same thing can be said for the players; they will watch the film of the game and hopefully improve on what that didn't do well.

I am surprised that some posters are calling for doom and gloom just because the loss one game. Yes, it's a cause for concern, but not the over reaction that has been made of this situation. The Pats are a good team and I am sure they will get the problems corrected and start winning again.

Another thing that surprised me is how some posters were trying to blame this loss on Danny Amendola. I mean my goodness does the madness every stop. It makes me feel bad for the young man. I can only think of one other player( Tebow) besides Danny that has been unfairly targeted with such hate and vitriol on this board. Bottom line we didn't lose because of Danny that's for sure.

Nevertheless, lets try and be positive and hope for the best moving forward. :)

You take a lot of flack on this board for stating and sticking to your opinions. I'm considered a cantankerous old rabble rouser, but I appreciate your presence here and furthermore, appreciate your sense of basic human values as they apply to everyone around you. You have been a welcome addition to this insane asylum, CC.

Thanks Joker, you have been great to have on the board as well. God bless! :)

the pats usually have one knee-jerk game a year where they look totally incompetent. I guess it was week 1 this year. I expect them to be better next week. THe team looked undisciplined and as if they werent prepared for the heat...which is surprising to see in a belicheck type team.

even Revis played bad

Strangely, I see it as a more passionate, spur of the moment emotional version of my recent feelings toward the Patriots coming up short in recent years. The issue appears to be that it's the same issues that continue to dog the Patriots and despite the revolving chairs, we're met with the same result.

Really, there's no excuse for the D to perform the way it did in the second half. There is far too much talent for it to be a talent issue. That leads me to believe that it's a coaching and scheme issue and as @stcjones mentioned, one has to question whether or not Belichick has lost his defensive genius because frankly, our D's have been meddling, middle of the road (if not worse) units for some time.

The reality is Brady has covered up deficiencies for some time. That only lasts for so long.

We'll have a better understanding if this was an aberration or indicative of what's to come for the remainder of the season at the 1/4 mile mark.
