That's not the way it has worked.

That's just my point. That is exactly how it has worked in the past. The change is what is being done now.

Would they be more pertinent in the draft forum or the main forum?

What's the problem with condensing discussion (in this case) into 2 forums?

Like I've stated, the main forum is slow and filled with threads that aren't very relevant to what's currently going on (and the draft process is currently going on). Also, I don't have a problem with the draft forum, because it's for the hardcore draft niks to break down every aspect. I believe this forum can handle a little draft discussion.

You still haven't answered Scott's question though - Was there a problem when every single draft thread wasn't being moved? You know the answer.

And in the past, there weren't any Red Sox, Pub, or etc. forums. People complained about completely irrelevant off-topic threads. THEN those sub-forums were created. So you are only referring to a period of time where a great number of members were dissatisfied.

Believe me, this forum is one of the more liberal out there. I've been banned from my share of forums. Hell, I once got suspended from an MLB forum because I didn't show sympathy when Nomar tore his groin. After the Jaguars/Pats game in January 2006, I got banned from Jaguars.com simply because I was a Pats fan.

Thank you.

I await a reply.

C'mon, Seymour, you're just being cynical now.

I'm being cynical because you've stated your apathy towards college football in the past. Here's your very own words...

Oh, college football and the south...

Now, college football and the north outside of the midwest is, well, second-fiddle to almost every other sport.

But at least you linked it to the Pats. Otherwise, I have no care whatsoever for anything college football.

Would someone who at least cares about the college game be so hard line about this issue as you are? Doubt it. And before you became a mod there was draft discussion going on here without problem.

Like I've stated, the main forum is slow and filled with threads that aren't very relevant to what's currently going on (and the draft process is currently going on).

And after the Chargers game, the first page of the main forum had about 10 minutes' worth of threads.

What's the point of having a little bit here and a little bit there?

Oh, give me a break.

If you think that factors into what I do - which it doesn't - then talk to Ian about it.

Sey93, I think I gave a decent argument as to why the boards should be split ^^^^

Also, just look at the Planet and what a mess their front page is sometimes by not having more strict forums laid out.

Scott37,

How would you specifically like the forum laid out?

People complained about completely irrelevant off-topic threads. THEN those sub-forums were created. So you are only referring to a period of time where a great number of members were dissatisfied.

If the problem is that members are complaining about a certain thread then let's find a way to have the moderators take action only if there are a certain number of complaints, say 3, prior to an item being moved. Otherwise, why not leave them alone.

Hell, I once got suspended from an MLB forum because I didn't show sympathy when Nomar tore his groin. I simply don't care what is being done on other boards. Just because something negative was done to you in the past doesn't make it right. Why bring the negativity of those boards to this one by copying their actions.

I think the main reason to have separate threads is that in the offseason, this main forum is going to be notably lighter in tone, whereas the draft forum will be at its most serious.

I think the main forum would be a little mess if you have folks on the one hand breaking down draft prospects in a very methodical and intricate manner and on the other, folks just trying to pass the offseason time with some lighthearted threads.

I know what you're saying and I agree to an extent, but we're going to the other extreme here. I think this forum could tolerate draft discussion which isn't too specific but more Pats-related. There would be no forum meltdown if this occured. Well, we've seen it occur before pats1 became a mod and it didn't meltdown.

Maybe, I think in the end it's almost arbitrary and its just best to pick one forum philosophy and stick with it.

No, it doesn't mean its wrong. It is, just as you say, to each his own. I just happen to think this is better. If I frequented PP more, I would probably be partial to their way of doing things. I much prefer the structure to this site as it makes it much easier to comb through for specific threads.

Oh, give me a break.

Two responses now where you didn't really answer the question and another where you didn't address the issue. You have a hard time admitting that there wasn't a problem before all the draft threads started getting moved. Why is that?

EDIT: I've noticed that you can edit posts without the little line at the end showing up. Kinda scary.

OK?

I'm done.

Not issues with you personally (since I don't know you - this is the internet after all), just with the way you "moderate" this forum.

Look, I'm not here to get into an argument. A simple question was asked and to this point you have avoided it. Now you're done?
