The Official Patriots at Miami Dolphins Week One Game Thread

There are a lot of new posters in here. I don't know how they are getting through. I thought the Mods had a filter for that. Trolls love to come and play when the Pats lose.

I agree. It was on full display at times last year. Especially during the Bengals game, and perhaps even more so when the Pats prematurely lost to the Saints .

When you have two offensive linemen who played badly in 2013 and add to the problem by trading your
best offensive lineman, bad things may happen. Mankins must be grinning ear to ear. Trouble is how do
you rectify this problem? Do you start the rookie Stork and hope he is adequate?
The defense was no ball of fire either. No pass rush or run defense in the second half. Easley came in for
one play, went offside, and was not heard from again. The Patriots did draw three awful rushing the
passer penalties.

I think alot of people myself included thought we would have Gronk and Wilfork back and all would be ok. Obviously that's wrong. Our O Line is like swiss cheese and whomever keeps calling for the deep ball needs to be slapped.

Unless Denver shows significant improvement tonight then i literally cannot see anyone stopping Seattle from repeating, they just look so far ahead of the pack. Unless Pats show us next week that this was a one off i don't like us moving forward.

Offensive was as bad as I have ever seen it. The rush defense looks like it did that that week back in 2002 Priest Homes ran over the pats all game. Pats have no weapons on offense to boot.

What is Peterson going to do to this team next week? 200 yards rushing?

Ban me. Whatever, but face the facts. Quack quack quack

Uh..you are wrong but I'm not going to argue with an Indy troll. It's easy to use that mongo logic. "The second half was about Brady's poor play". Brady put up over 200 yards passing in the first half.

Both halves reinforced what everyone should know about Brady. He's the best in the business if you block for him. But if the line goes full ******, he's not going to win in spite of them. Few QBs can, and we shouldn't expect him to be one of those guys. He wasn't ten years ago, so he definitely isn't now.

You're not wrong, but the guy who said Brady is a "sacred cow" is right. People need to open their eyes. I remember reading an anonymous scout s quote saying that with guys like Brady, watch out, because when they start to erode, they go straight off the cliff. Just watch him play

Hi.

Interesting post. #57. Brady has earned being a sacred cow. our eyes are open. we remember being 1-15. The rest of your post is incoherent.

Disagree, brady was very bad. I don't see how you can possibly say he wasn't. "He either had no time or when he did his receivers dropped almost every pass". So you mean to tell me brady didn't make any bad throws today? None of it was his fault ? Today was the worst I've seen brady play in awhile.
Might wanna try reading the entire post there skippy.

Well, that sucked. Brady was not the best today, no sense of urgency or desire out there, Run D was obviously pretty sad, offensive line was not the best...always like me some Edleman but the team today, and certainly Brady included, played like hot garbage in the second half. I don't think it is as bad as everyone thinks but one thing is crystal clear to me, someone has to get their hand on that intensity dial and crank that bad boy up. I am not talking about the 'intensity' shown celebrating a TD, I am talking about intensity regarding making plays ...

What exactly is a "sense of urgency" and how exactly does it contribute to winning a football game. You can keep your "sense of urgency" and I'll take speed, power, and skill. Not enough of any of the above out there today. Other than Collins, the LBs looked painfully slow. Other than Jones, the DL looked painfully weak AND slow. The entire OL looked slow and without skill and the WRs looked eminently coverable. Time will tell if it was just a bad day or if they simply stink.

Week 2 against the Jets and week 5 against the Bengals during 13' both say hello.

They remind me a lot of 2004 Patriots. As I've said before, they have the best shot at repeating of any champion since the 2003 Patriots (we lost a lot of guys after Super Bowl 39).

His arm strength is what? He almost threw that touchdown through Gostowski. It was a BB.

Brady's NEVER been a great deep ball thrower, but other than Moss, he's never had a deep ball threat (as in, a guy good at adjusting to the throw and going up to get it).

And he really does usually suck in Miami.

Yeah that 6 yard bomb was a BB.

The trouble is, he was missing wide open receivers when he had plenty of time.

Brady throws ducks. And by the way, I'm always here after jet losses. Check the history

At least the pats d accomplished one thing today, Cam Newton is inactive, Derek Anderson with the start. Derek Anderson versus Josh McCown!, oh the humanity!,,,,

The trouble is, he was missing wide open receivers when he had plenty of time.

How the hell did he manage to complete any passes earlier in the game? Honestly the guy sucks so bad, how did he ever complete a pass? He missed so many wide open guys.
