I know it's more complicated because of missing drug tests (while he was out of the league), but they were reporting on NFLN this morning that Wes Welker might be playing next week. They're reviewing the drug policy and the possibility is that non-PED drugs might be treated as substance-abuse problems, not suspension-PED problems.

They mentioned that Josh Gordon might be back soon, too.

If Welker's back next week, then what about Browner, who got busted for pot?

Wasn't Browner busted for missing drug tests when he played in the CFL? I wonder how that would be treated with any new policy.

Deal needs to happen first, if i'm not mistaken, they've been "close" many times in the past, and yet here we are.

As for Browner specifically, who knows, I've only ever heard Welker and Gordon's names dropped but that's also probably due to them being the most recently discussed and prominent suspensions.

Browner got screwed, but I think it will help the Patriots, so I'm okay with it (in that they'll be able to let Ryan and Dennard fight it out for the #3/backup spot).
