That's long been the case. It's especially the case now that the Red Sox have fallen back to mediocrity, the Celtics are rebuilding, and the Bruins apparent need to re-tool in a few areas. It doesn't hurt that the Pats have been near dominant most seasons in a sport that's pretty much the undisputed #1 in the United States with the next most popular sport a very, very distant second, either.

Whenever I go to Pats road games I always see lots of Red Sox people.

Maybe in NE the Pats are first, but I believe that Boston is still a Red Sox town.

How much do you drink? I've never seen Bankofamericasox people at Pats road games.

You can go on believing that if you want, but that's no longer the case.

Ive seen too many Red Sox people.

Let me get this straight?

Fans of a baseball team that had not won a world series championship since Babe Ruth was traded are suddenly going to jump ship because the Red Sox had a bad post WS Championship season (which is typical for them) and because the their roster just doesn't wow anybody right now?

Don't see it.

You cant tell the story about Boston without including the RS and Fenway.

But you can without the Patriots.

Your argument is with Steve Buckley and thousands of poll responders, not me. As for your Red Sox people at Patriots road games sightings, I suggest different meds or laying off the sauce. ;)

Red Sox suck...Bruins kick ass and make playoffs every year. (I was at that game 7 fiasco) But pats are defiantly #1

I would like to believe in fairy tales too, but the Pats just don't have the same following like the Sox do. Their rabid fanbase is not going away as long as the NY Yankees are in existence. People that relocate and work in NE and then leave go as Red Sox fans and stay loyal Red Sox fans.

That's just the way it is.

Please cite data, polls, editorials, or other research to back up the bolded.

Sure, sure. You know it all. Down heeya in New Yawk there are plenty of meatheads buying Red Sawks hats because they think the "B" stands for Brooklyn.

I live out of state and every time I see someone wearing Sox gear I ask if they are from NE/BOSTON.

The majority of the time the answer is no, buy they tell me they went to school or worked in NE and became RS fans.

Okay??

How's this: I live out of state too and every time I see someone wearing Sox gear, I ask if they are from NE/Boston.

The majority of the time, the answer is yes.

So what now? Debate over? Again, please provide EVIDENCE that this is the case. You'll forgive me if I don't exactly take your word for it.

You're half right: the Pats have a much GREATER following than the Bankofamericasox. Nobody said the Sox don't have a rabid fan base or that it is going away anytime soon, but it certainly is dwindling and has been overshadowed by the Patriots.

That's just the way it is.
If you can supply anything to support that other than your opinion, please do.

I enjoy both sports. They provide different pleasures.

At breakfast this morning, for example, my wife said, "Hey, the Nats have a late afternoon home game today. Want to go?" We spontaneously grabbed a couple off of Stubhub, great seats not far from the field, and will have an easy, relaxed late afternoon surrounded largely by people doing the same. It's the difference between going to the symphony and going to a rock concert. If you know how to appreciate both, you can enjoy both.

Your wife is a keeper.
