Would You Trade For Josh Gordon?

Yes, i would trade for him. We could use Boyce as trade bait and a 7th too. Wait what?? Boyce is on the PS and cleared waivers???? I was convinced cleveland were going to offer us a 4th for him!

In all seriousness if we could get Gordon for anything south of a 4th rounder then absolutely.

I'd give up a 6th/7th that's about it

The league is about to increase the tolerable limits of marijuana in players systems as part of their new drug testing deal, so yeah, that's pretty huge for Gordon's value.

No; once bitten, twice shy...

This guy has been "stuck on stupid" for a while now, and the illusion that he will change is pyss poor.

if he spends most of his time suspended then there wouldn't be any point to it.

I think it is funny that posters are setting a limit of a sixth or seventh round pick for Josh Gordon. Gordon is a proven top 5 NFL WR, we used a second round pick this season on a QB who could be a franchise QB in 4-5 years, we have used second and third round picks on players like Wilson, Bequette, Harmon, etc. I would trade anything but a first round pick for Gordon and if it did not work out oh well, it is not the first draft pick not to work out and it will not be the last.

I would also trade any pick other than a 1st.

No, he's no where near top 5. He might be in receiving ability, but when you factor in the incredibly important issues of personal discipline, emotional intelligence, following rules and procedures, subordinating one's personality to the needs of the team, and being able to stay on the field and be available to your team, then he's not top 50. You have to show up to be considered.

Josh Gordon led the NFL in receiving yards last season in just 14 games. We are talking about on the field performance; he is a top 5 receiver when he is on the field without question.

Josh's Football skills are excellent, but his off the field issues are serious and repetitive. Overall, he's a bad role model who doesn't represent the Patriot Way. Therefore, I vote no.

The best ability is availability, and if he isn't available due to suspension he is being out produced by every other starting WR.

The answer to this question is beyond a doubt yet. He's serving his suspension for another team. The kid is a stud and you line him up with Gronk and Dobson, and you've got a great core. The question is why would Cleveland sell him at his lowest?

That could change with the new drug policy.

You should learn the difference between dislike and disagree, I do not care if you click the disagree button but to dislike it does not mean that you disagreed it just means you did not like what I wrote, I call that the ***** button, it is a **** move, you just dislike someone’s post and troll along.

You should learn the difference between your own opinions and Universal Truth (or even generally accepted definitions).

For me, "dislike" means that I don't like the contribution to the flow of the conversation, that i see it as either a distraction from quality dialogue or a negative comment that will invite more negative comments. "Disagree" simply means that I disagree with the thinking.

So should I dislike this post? Since it is off topic of the thread purpose and has to do with a post that was made 2 days ago and since moved on from by all posters involved in the discussion. You bored bro?

Belichick has made it clear for over a decade that he values dependability over anything else, and the willingness to "do your job" as key to that. Gordon has demonstrated that he's not willing or able to subordinate his impulses and make the team's needs his priority. That means he's not a top 5 receiver, regardless of what he does when he's on the field (especially for Cleveland, a team largely devoid of other talent and weapons).

What we don't know is if this lack of emotional maturity and intelligence is something he can grow out of. Some people can, some can't, and we haven't developed a way of predicting that yet. If he does demonstrate it, then the Pats may consider him at that time. Until that time, he'll be a darling of fantasy football players everywhere (the opposite of Pats philosophy).

No, but I am procrastinating from the stuff I should be doing right now and am not looking forward to.

I have seen him sign and draft a number of players who are often injured and less than dependable.

I am not saying that Gordon is a pillar of character, but if the price was right why would Belichick not trade for him, it is not as if he has a big contract.

I think you have a warped view of the Patriots philosophy; we have brought in plenty of players with questionable character because of their talent and on field ability – Dillon, Moss, Hernandez, Haynesworth, Dennard, etc. for example.
