The 2014 Edition : Jets continue to suck (what else is new)

I may put some money on the Raiders +5.5

The Jets absolutely stinks, I just don't know if going with Carr instead of Schaub actually helps this specific match, I believe Schaub is more ready to go due to his experience but I think they intend to make Carr learn through fire from the get go. Schaub is a lost cause.

Man, for one day, I'm going to be cheering for the Silver & Black.

It makes me happy that I have NFL Sunday Ticket, so's I can check in or that game while watching New England.

I was a little concerned that Idzik would be able to put together a solid roster and replace Rex with a competent coach. The Patterson affair provided me with some relief on that front.

To recap:

- Patterson left the team shortly before their third preseason game.
- The Jets claimed they had no idea where Patterson was or why he left for 48 hours.
- Patterson claimed his agent had been in touch with the team before he left.

I can see why Patterson said what he did. Otherwise, he would have walked out on his team without explanation. The Jets, though, never supported Patterson's version of events and I'm not sure why they wouldn't, if it was accurate.

As a punishment, the Jets suspended Patterson for the final preseason game. Then they cut him from the team on August 30, 8 days after his original "disappearance."

Why not just cut him after he returned to the team? I saw a Jets fan claim Idzik didn't want to lose the locker room by cutting the guy immediately, but I think that would be a pretty easy one to sell to the team - "He walked out on you guys without warning right before a game. You can't depend on him. The end." It would have been a decisive move and would have shown that messing up wasn't tolerated. Instead, Idzik gave a more wishy-washy explanation about "gather[ing] more information to what led to his behavior."

To play Devil's advocate for a moment, it's at least possible that there was some sort of significant mental health issue that needed to be addressed. [Of course, IMO, that applies to whatever mindset allows players to willingly sign with the JEST, but that's neither here nor there.]

One lunatic believes the Rats have never ever really lost any game they've ever played...

the other is a pathological liar/fake lawyer suffering from feces poisoning...

Of course THIS is the real Welker drug story...I love these sobbing little girls..

Apparently, Belichick had a handshake deal with Patdell that in exchange for the first round pick, and the under the table fine for turnover over the evidence, in addition to burning the evidence, and the package deal with the refs, is exclusion of PED testing whenever possible until after the players are released.

This won't get old though. This would be downright orgasmic, pun intended, if he were still a Pat.

That could very well be true. But if the Jets really wanted to help him with a mental health issue, wouldn't they keep him on the team, so they can work with him through the process and have a healthy employee at the end of it? Once they release him, he's on his own. I guess not booting him immediately was the nicer thing to do, but I don't know if cutting him a week later was enough time to address whatever issue he was experiencing.

Then again, willingly leaving the Jets before that game may have been a sign that he was coming out of the psychosis that lead him to join the team in the first place.

Just when I think these guys couldn't get any dumber...

Never Think That...axiomatic

I want to bet the raiders..but didn't. So much suck in that one game...think a black hole will open up on the NJ turnpike.

I'm feeling a bit Emo because my home board (JI) is going to be going through some changes, so I decide to end my hiatus and stop in here, and I hardly recognize the place.

When did Ian upgrade the board? Do ya'll like it?

Might take me a minute or so, but I am sure I will get use to it.

Wow, new board lay out, I need to stop by more often.

When did Ian do the upgrade?

Any way, what about them Jets!

It was back around draft time. Aside from the drastic lack of smileys, it's quite an improvement. Works much better on mobile devices, even without Tapatalk.

Sorry, buddy, they still suck.

(Good to see you. Yes, the board's been upgraded. It works fine and is much quicker although there's stuff I still haven't got my head around.)

No matter how much things change ... presidents ... scientific breakthroughs ... nations rise and fall ... the Internet is invented, message boards evolve -- we take comfort in one enduring constant:
THE NEW JERSEY GREEN BEANS STILL SUCK!
