4 games...amphetamines

@AlbertBreer: Per sources, Wes Welker has been suspended for four games for violating the NFL's PED policy. It was for amphetamines.

Crazy....plenty of time to get the head strait

With his concussed state, Welker probably didn't either.
I saw a pic from him in the first broncos game and then one at the end of the season on a thread here somewhere, and he looks bad to me. Eyes look way different IMO.

Huge shock to me. Always saw Wes as one of the proverbial good guys in the game. I still do obviously, but this isn't that great of a thing to happen to him. Hopefully it was just a lapse in medication

Geez, was watching FF Live on NBCSN when they broke this news. What the heck... First the concussions and now this?

Furthermore, what's going on with the Broncos? Guys like Prater and Welker are getting four game suspensions. Just seems like something isn't right.

What exactly does "amphetamines" refer to?

Wow, now that was unexpected.

NFL fans will probably blame the Pats somehow, since everyone calls us the Cheatriots, and Welker is an ex-Patriot. But seriously, WTF is Welker doing ? Retire already. And why is he taking Amphetamines ? Please tell me he had a cold and he was taking Sudafed.

Couldn't he just have had an issue with alcohol, like the other Broncos players and front office personnel? :D

What a sad way to watch a career end. Concussions then drugs

With his concussed state, Welker probably didn't either.

Amphetamines and concussions have a correlation I believe in that the sufferers of repeat concussions can feel the need to counter several of the more debilitating side-effects of postconcussive syndrome -something that amphetamines are actually pretty good at.

For what its worth, Ted Johnson admitted to using and then getting addicted to amphetamines to help combat his own symptoms of PCS.

I can see the Belichick press conference tomorrow, "Bill, what do you think about Welker's suspension ?", "I'm just focusing on the guys here and playing against Miami".

If I had to play with Manning, I'd be taking speed too.

Or meth. Manning is a Tennessee Volunteers alum, so he'd know where to get ahold of meth.
