We have signed LB A.J. Edds and released CB Ellis Lankster.

For real, does anyone know the Jets top 3 CBs?

1. Regardless of his actual height which I don't even know, and the fact that Tyrion is actually smaht and cool, I am going to call him Tyrion Lannkster

2. re: Rescue Man Whoever... new chant to replace J-E-S-T:

CLEAR!

They don't really have a "top" three ... A bottom three, most likely.

After Fireman ed left, the Jets held auditions for the new super fan to pump up the crowd. Here is a leaked video of those auditions...

We has our Pats Fans FF draft tonight. Eric Decker was still on the board wayyyy after then he should have gone..gee I wonder why??

Post #726. But it's a long thread and deserves multiple showings!

I think one of their starters on Sunday may be Phillip Adams. If the name sounds familiar it is because he spend about 4-5 games on the Pats' roster in 2011. He did have an INT, but was bad enough to be cut from one of the worst secondaries the Pats have had during the Belichick era.

The Jets are going to start a new promotion this season: each game, three randomly selected fans will be chosen out of the stands and get to play as CB's in a real, live NFL game!

Jets fans on JI called me a homer when I said that Dennard would easily be their #1 CB this Sunday with Milliner likely not playing. And they are likely to start a converted safety at one of their CB positions. Jets fans are funny in an ironic sort of way.

Of course these Jets fans even said there isn't a Patriots player that Belichick has drafted since 2010 they would want on their team other than Gronk. This includes guys like McCourty (who they still are convinced sucks and is a marginal player at best), Chandler Jones (apparently the fact he had 11.5 sack and has seemed to make a seamless transition to OLB doesn't interest them when Coples has struggled to make that transition and the Jets can't get sacks unless they blitz), Dobson, and Collins. And then they call me a homer.

The thing is with Jets fans that, forty years later, they're still six year old idiots.

As of Tuesday 9-2-2014 at 10:00 am, the Jets have three cornerbacks on their active roster: Rookie Dee Milliner (injured), Darrin Walls, and Kyle Wilson. They have a combined 4 interceptions in their illustrious careers.

The Jets don't have a lot to worry about, however. The Raiders are starting rookie Derek Carr on Sunday.

They might want to beat the bushes for a corner or two with the Packers, Bears, Lions, Chargers, Broncos and Patriots as their next six games. (I count three HOF QBs, at least two HOF receivers, and one HOF TE (if he can stay healthy) in there.)

Best of luck, Rex.

Do you think Woody Johnson will be telling the public that Rex's job as HC is secure after that stretch? Whether he does or not hardly matters, though the funny point would be that this could be one time where the GM did actually put Rex in a bad spot. (though I'm sure Rex had his hand in it too).

I think Rex's job is dependent on whether he beats the Patriots at least once during the regular season. It's like being the NC State basketball coach. If you get a W against Duke or Carolina, you're safe for another year, regardless of whether you have a winning season or make the NCAA Tournament.

That ridiculous "shoving" call last season against Chris Jones cemented Rex in place for another year.

You have a good point, though. It's quite possible that the Jets are 1-6 after week 7 this year. The Jets should beat the Raiders, but the Raiders have a tremendous backfield with McFadden and Maurice Jones-Drew, and receivers who will be open. Lots of pressure on the Jets front seven to make up for so little in the secondary. Could be an 0-7 start for the Jets.

Buh-bye, Rex.

Lol This is going to sound bad, but I'd love to give it go! Just to experience what it's like to play against NFL caliber players. Even if it's the rats. Being a fan I wouldn't have to spend time in their locker room and have their false bravado and slimy human existence rub off on me.

I imagine this will wind up in the Jets Suck thread, but the Raiders picking up old friend Ras-I Dowling for their Practice Squad is just too ironic to be true.

Do any of you football historians know what the NFL record is for a regular season game played with the fewest cornerbacks?

I would guess that the answer might have been the Patriots in 2004, when Ty Law, Tyrone Poole and Asante Samuel were all injured.

However, I would say that is very safe to say that the Jets will not come remotely close to the success the Pats had in that season, when they plugged in Troy Brown and street free agents to fill the void.
