I think the Patriot Way stopped being relevant when our all-pro tight end was outed as a murderer. Jones being insensitive to Sam being gay doesn't seem to rank in comparison.

People thought the same thing (BB claiming a player just before we play them for intel) a few years ago when he claimed Woodhead from the Jets.

Hopefully this one works out as that one did

I forget his name offhand, but we did that with a CB from the Bills once to and it was a running locker room joke.
The guy knew why he was there and even knowingly smiled when he got interviewed and was asked about that. It's a common practice around the league.
