Im going with the assumption that Swanson has ugly toes.
maybe the jets finally realized that every single person we let go, and they picked up, amounted to nothing, and so have said we will start looking elsewhere

Did Finch sign with another team's PS? How about Gallon? I saw he turned us down, but didn't see that he signed elsewhere.

So Seastrunk and Finch both turned us down?
I count 10 so unless we bump a guy to pick up a guy this looks like it for at least today.
No I think we didn't offer either a spot.

With the exception of the QB, that's an excellent practice squad from the standpoint of shadow roster depth. Most of those guys could step in and give you reps as injury replacements, both on special teams and otherwise. For example, if you had a rash of WR injuries, at least Boyce and line up in the right place and catch a football.

I don't know if Aiken will be back as the long snapper, but it's pretty clear that the Pats weren't going to have him on the roster week one and guarantee his salary for the year.

I'll guess that Ninkovich will handle it for the first week. They'll evaluate this new practice squad guy, and then make a decision.
Aiken can be brought back any time until Saturday.

How about Gallon? I saw he turned us down, but didn't see that he signed elsewhere.
No-one said he turned us down. All that was said was he won't sign to the Patriots practice squad. Well, neither will I but that doesn't mean I turned them down.

I don't know about Gallon or Finch turning down a PS offer, but I wouldn't imagine that would be too smart of a move by either of them. Isn't it better to be on a PS than on the street, which it looks like both of them are at this point. It's more likely that neither of them were offered a spot.

As for Seastrunk, I thought he ran hard against us and looks like a good PS candidate. I thought Jonas Gray ran hard but didn't have a second gear like Seastrunk.

I'm kind of surprised that Worthy wasn't kept around for at least another week or two to give him more of a chance to show if he can contribute. Then again, it doesn't look like anyone else has picked him up either.

What kind of haircut does Boyce take in the salary dept?

Bequette is sticking so much that someday he will couch this team. The pictures must be from Krafts not BB.

@DougKyedNESN: Deontae Skinner, Chris Martin and Josh Boyce still have lockers intact.

@DougKyedNESN: WR Josh Boyce signed to the Patriots practice squad.

Also,

@DougKyedNESN: Sealver Siliga says he's ready to play Sunday.

@fnordcircle

@DougKyedNESN: Jake Bequette still has a locker intact with the Patriots, as well.

@DougKyedNESN: DE Jake Bequette signed to the Patriots' practice squad.

The news about Sealver Siliga is encouraging. Vince will have an opportunity to catch his breath.

The Jake Bequette story is unusual. BB has waited for two years and Jake finally showed something in preseason Games 3 and 4. Maybe he is just a late bloomer and BB sensed something there, or the switch to OLB as well as DE saved his career.

Josh Boyce will get another chance too.

Finch has little value to this team, we have Vereen and White as 3DRB options, and Bolden even has some experience there, so I do not see a huge need for Finch here.

Very disappointing that Halapio, Thomas, and Gallon were all so unimpressive that we did not even want them on the practice squad. Terrible draft picks.

Personally, I think that they are going to start Siliga at NT and use Wilfork as a 34DE.

This would be a bad ass 3-4:

LOLB – Ninkovich/Hightower
LDE – Wilfork
NT – Siliga
RDE – Easley
ROLB – Jones
SILB – Mayo
WILB – Collins

Imagine being the LT and LG on that play with Easley and Jones coming at you.

Apparently Gallon said no to us..

I saw little of him, but he made a nice catch against the Giants, due to his college numbers, he's worth a practice squad spot. Actually I would put my chips on him than Boyce.

I honestly did not understand why they did not just leave him on PUP. He came off with 1 week left in the preseason it just did not seem likely that he could make the team, so why not leave him and take your time evaluating him.

Are Bequette and Boyce the 2 "new rules" members of the PS or would either or both have qualified under the old rules?

Bequette is only eligible under the new rules, as he has two accrued seasons.
Boyce was drafted last year, so he only has one accrued season, and thus does not fall under the new "no more than two players with two accrued seasons" rule.
