What are your expectations for the Patriots this upcoming 2014 NFL Season?

At some stage during the season, I will cry with tears of joy as the Patriots Defense shows me a Secondary that can blanket their opponents with great vengeance and furious anger.

Division Title should be more than realistic. Then, field a team that could go all the way in the playoffs.

13-3 and hopefully the Super Bowl ...

I think the team is good enough ... will it be healthy enough?
Well tell us ICY. Do YOU think that they will be healthy enough overall?

Would be surprised at anything other than Brady v. Manning in the AFC CG yet again. Want to pick Pats, but really concerned about how this year's "point of emphasis" will favor the Broncos...

With good-to-average health, I'm seriously thinking UTTER DOMINATION this season. They are going to be ugly beatdowns too. Get ready for more running-it-up-gate and the "pats D must be cheating because they look like they know every play that is coming" gate. This team is so under the radar, yet they are more like a tsunami. Warn their opponents now, while there is still time. BB has ALL his chess pieces. Finally. He's been trying to get this act together for a few seasons now, with a couple prep years before that to get his men. But now he has, like really, ALL of them. It's going to be fun. Here's one the many schemes I'm excited to see played out on the field: What BB can do, i.e. creatively attack, with a lock-down corner! O..M..G.. I've wet myself. Now add in a bit of QB pressure, and Oh...oh...oh...aaahh I've feel tingly. TB throwing to a healthy Gronk and every imaginable size, shape and talent of receivers all about to hit their prime really, and add 4 multi-use complentary RB's with backups to be sure, a O-Line with two proven monsters at tackles and behemoths at G, and a top C back from his wrong position.

I expect them to be very very good. I also expect them to lose a game or two on some crazy BS like every year. Whether it be like the Carolina game or jets game. Lots of games will come down to Os getting free first downs late in games due to new rules so it will happen to every team

I expect 12-13 wins, and a run at least to the division championship... possibly the Superbowl.

The Superbowl has a huge element of good fortune in the 18-19 season of attrition... this team, on paper, is good enough and balanced enough to achieve the goal... but there are so many variables, expect some awkwardness and struggles early on.. but is it how it ends that is important.

Dare I say......

Super Bowl or Bust :D

My prediction for other teams? Pain...

You can click my username and get the link for my 2014 Season prediction, but overall I've got 14-2 and a Super Bowl win. A few other things I expect:

1. A substantial increase in 20+ yard pass plays.
2. Vereen to have a Pro Bowl year (provided he stays healthy)
3. A slow start for the OL, especially with run blocking, but they'll get better by the end of the season
4. Chandler Jones gets more than 15 sacks

1 Bumps in the road. Every NFL team has flaws and NE is no different.
2 A surprise loss. Maybe even next Sunday at Miami.
3 With Revis a noticeable difference in the Pats pass defense.
4 For Gronk to be healthy the entire post season.
5 For Bolden to finally prove his worth.

I have already given my predictions in another thread, but I figured I would give a link to Boomer Easiason's predictions. He has the Pats winning the Super Bowl, Brady throwing for 40 TDs, and the defense being the best Belichick has had in 5-6 years or longer.

Anything less than a Super Bowl victory is an abject failure in my books. I expect this team to win it all this season.

Great feedback/responses. Lets keep them coming.

Edelman to lead the team in receptions again

Dobson catching at least 10 TDs

Jones 15 sacks

Offense top 3 in scoring

Defense top 3 in points allowed

Sweep the division

Go 14-2

SB win

Pats O line and Run defense struggle this year.

Pats record 9 and 7 and season end.

My expectations are mostly contingent upon health, but here are some:

  1. Brady to "bounce back" from what was not a bad season in the first place
  2. Edelman to have fewer catches
  3. Amendola to have more catches
  4. Thompkins to have more catches
  5. Gronk to have 70-80 catches
  6. Wendell to be beaten out at center
  7. A surprising amount of 3-4 defense
  8. A 5 man RB corps of Ridley, Vereen, White, Devlin and a battle for the 5th spot
  9. D.J. Williams not to make the team
  10. A return to the Super Bowl
  11. Easley to be considered a disappointment by many, because of his late start and bounce back time
  12. Bequette to be cut
  13. 13+ wins
  14. Interesting use of the Slot/Outside hybrid receivers (Edelman/LaFell/Amendola/Boyce (if he makes the team), varying their positions and roles more than we would normally see
  15. Top 5 scoring offense, top 5 scoring defense
  16. Top 5 total offense, top 10 total defense

Some more of these have come to pass, but there are a few that aren't looking good.

Still can't believe what a difference halftime made during the Miami game. It's like someone came in and drugged the entire team. The first half was pretty much in line with what we all expected, and things haven't been the same since.
