Chiefs and Alex Smith close to Extension

@RapSheet: The #Chiefs are finishing up a 4-year extension for QB Alex Smith worth roughly $17M per year, I’m told. Includes $45M in guarantees.

not discussing the value of the deal, Alex Smith is underrated in my opinion, when he was a FA I said in the gang green forum they should go for him with everything they could, those dumbs called me crazy, they are just fine at QB

It's one of the smarter QB extensions/signings from a front office standpoint in recent years. I think the Chiefs will feel better about this one than say...Baltimore will, regarding their deal with Flacco.

Really? I'm the opposite end of thr spectrum. I find Smith pretty mediocre but with a hell of good fortune. Easy schedules and good coaching led him to this contract. I think this is the year when his true colors show

EDIT i should add that the contract is not bad per se
