James White has shown jack crap thus far.....Can someone tell me what he did better than Gray and Finch for him to be kept? Is it because he was a 4th rounder? Finch and Gray BOTH impressed much more than white imho....

Who is our kick returner right now the unimpressive James White.

I thought Finch ran better than White, both inside and outside, and caught the ball just as well. He's obviously more explosive. Unlike white, Finch was good all camp except fumbling in game one. White was supposedly good during practices, but looked like **** during games.

Finch better make it to the practice squad when will the practice squad announcements start?

Finch showed nothing and could not block me.
Finch led all Patriot rushers with 4.6 ypc. He ran effectively inside and out, showing nice instincts. Blocking is a liability to be sure, but in return you get big play capability and a guy who is a threat with the ball in his hands. I would like to see him on the PS.

Finch got most of his yards vs the scrubs. Not against putting him on the PS but I don't expect much.

In regard to Jon Halapio's now-deleted tweet, Halapio has informed those close to him he has been released by the Pats, per source.

Meanwhile the guy who I badly wanted the Pats to take, Antone Exum, taken 3 picks after Halapio, has made the Vikings roster as a safety. Another binky, LB Christian Jones, made the Bears' team as a UDFA. That's two that I'll remember for a long time. Exum at 179 and Jones at 206 would have been a really nice combo for depth at two positions that could really use it. Plus I wanted Trey Millard at 244 rather than Jeremy Gallon, another cut.

I'd have to go back and check, but I think every one of the (guys I was consistently taking in mocks either made a team or got an injury settlement (Lyerla). I didn't see any of them on yesterday's cut lists, at the least. Christian Jones was a guy I wanted, along with Niklas, Archer, Daniel McCullers, etc... High round guys aren't any surprise, obviously, but I'm pretty happy with my choices this year.

So far, at least

Some of the late guys I wanted, for better or worse:

- LB Christian Jones - was a surprise UDFA, made the Bears.
- LB Kevin Pierre-Louis - went to Seattle in the 4th, looks to be a potential significant long-term piece of their defense. We took James White 2 picks earlier.
- OG/C John Urschel. My center of choice. Made the Ravens' roster. The Ravens cut center AQ Shipley.
- QB Garrett Gilbert. My dark horse QB candidate. Was cut by the QB-needy Rams. Looks like I whiffed on that one.
- CB/S Antone Exum - taken 3 picks after Jon Halapio, made the Vikings as one of 4 safeties.
- S Lonnie Ballentine - "Mr. Irrelevant" was placed on IR by Houston. I think he has the potential to be quite relevant in the long term.

Among others.

I wasn't as knowledgeable about the draft as the forum draftniks like you, manx, or OTG, but the one guy I wanted in the late rounds/or UDFA was Purifoy. He made the Colts roster atleast.

Granted, it's a moot point as BB found an UDFA CB gem.

I liked Exum, but not as much as you did. I loved Pierre-Louis. I had Tuitt as the Pats top pick, after a drop down. I had Southward as a safety pick, as well, but he went way ahead of mock projections.

It's too soon to tell for sure, obviously, but I think a number of us 'drafted' well this year.

A little off topic, but after watching Hard Knocks, thank god we didn't take Ra'shede Hageman. What a soft lazy unmotivated blob that guy has turned out to be. In the show the other day, they were trying to get him to run because he's so out of shape, and he'd just stand there while Bryan Cox is yelling at him, not even attempting to move. Then at another point, they were trying to get him to watch film and he was complaining and pulling his shirt over his head and just, in general, behaving in a way that I expect would get him cut in NE in a day.

You do realize that the Pats roster cuts will be among the top 2-3 most picked over the next week right? Meaning those teams don't have rosters as good, and their needs are different. I liked Jones myself, but I reckon BB has a better handle on it than anyone here.

You can always say that you nailed Garoppolo though. The ultimate feather in the cap :)

Finch intrigues me as well. He's incredibly quick and elusive. I hope he makes it to the practice squad and eventually has a chance to show his stuff in real action.

Terrence Fede and Zach Kerr are my binkies that stuck. Both have looked good in pre-season too which is nice.

If you don't run when Bryan Cox shouts at you there are three possibilities. You're so out of shape you can't. You're impossibly stupid. You're one of the bravest dudes on the planet.
