What are your expectations for the Patriots this upcoming 2014 NFL Season?

A battle tested team that went to 3 straight AFC championships, and is ready to get over that hump.

I'm expecting to no longer have to make excuses for the defense like "it's bend but don't break!" and "it may be bad in yards given but the points, look at the points! Its all in the plan, right guys?"

I'd like to see a defense so fierce this year that everyone else's forums are complaining about it. I want the defense to hit so hard Rex Ryan's headset flies off just from being in the proximity.

I don't give a crap about....
How many games we win by
Winning a bye week
How many points we score
Where we rank offense
Where we rank defense
Who catches how many
Who sacks how many
Who INT's how many
The only thing I want is a Super Bowl WIN! Everything else just doesn't matter!

It's training camp. We don't know who will be on the roster for 20-25% of the team.

Well I know we are NOT yet down to the final 53 yet. However, we are now down to the final 75. Lets hear your expectations for the Pats this season.

My expectations are to remain competitive for both the AFCE and AFC overall, to be in every single game win or lose, and to win double digit games (10+).

I think those are all fair and reasonable expectations.

With Logan Mankins traded to Tampa Bay, I expect Tom Brady in a full body cast some time during the 2014 NFL Season. At least Tom will get out of scrubbing the toilets at home.

2001-2005 Patriots that's what i'm expecting lets bring it back home.

Okay the roster has been now finalized. What do we expect from the Pats going forward?

Super Bowl or nothing

My expectations are mostly contingent upon health, but here are some:

  1. Brady to "bounce back" from what was not a bad season in the first place
  2. Edelman to have fewer catches
  3. Amendola to have more catches
  4. Thompkins to have more catches
  5. Gronk to have 70-80 catches
  6. Wendell to be beaten out at center
  7. A surprising amount of 3-4 defense
  8. A 5 man RB corps of Ridley, Vereen, White, Devlin and a battle for the 5th spot
  9. D.J. Williams not to make the team
  10. A return to the Super Bowl
  11. Easley to be considered a disappointment by many, because of his late start and bounce back time
  12. Bequette to be cut
  13. 13+ wins
  14. Interesting use of the Slot/Outside hybrid receivers (Edelman/LaFell/Amendola/Boyce (if he makes the team), varying their positions and roles more than we would normally see
  15. Top 5 scoring offense, top 5 scoring defense
  16. Top 5 total offense, top 10 total defense

3 down so far, with the rest still in play

13-3 and hopefully the Super Bowl ...

I think the team is good enough ... will it be healthy enough?

17-2 and a new stand in the trophy room.

To go in the playoffs with our young talent all playing well and impressing. Guys like Moore,Collins,Kenbrell,Dobson and especially Easley to be back to his 290 lbs or more and a difference maker as a Penetrating DT or 3-4 End. He is our #One pick and its very important he is the steal they hoped for. It would have been nice to have signed Marvin Austin.

Broncos look to be very loaded with talent. We have far more question marks than they do. Their #1 pick looks to be a hit and they may have got a steal in Marvin Austin, a very talented specimen I liked a lot in that draft but has underperformed. It would suck if he catches fire in a bronco uniform. We really had no round2 pick because the garappollo thing and we need Easley to be a hit to contend with the broncos. I would also like to see our most dominant OLineman on the field meaning Cannon at LG,Fleming at RG and Connolly,Stork competing at center. Does anybody think Wendell and Kline or connolly as a guard could block their DLine man up. Our best OLine interior was Mankins in his prime at LG,Waters at RG and Connolly at center. Cannon and Fleming gives us our most physical and athletic guard tandem now to lock up with the dominant DLines.

But with no #2 pick its very important for Easley to be a standout. Zach Moore has big upside and he or Collins needs to step up as another double digit pass rusher along with Jones. I don't like that talk bout Revis is going to make the QB hold the ball longer to give our pass rushers more time to get there. That's rediculous! The pass rush needs to do its job and get there so if coverage is good they rack up even more sacks or force bad passes into coverage. Not wait for coverage to give the pass rush all day to get to the QB.

That's what I would like to see the patriots do. Young talent standout by playoff time. Better heat on the QB and establish Kenbrell and Dobson while our best most dominant OLine playing. And of course the secondary to play good coverage with McCourty and Harmon becoming a standout safety tandem. Or maybe even McCourty and Browner due to Logan Ryan becoming a top flight #2 cornerback.

Now that Bequette is gone I would be happy if we win 3 games. We lost the GOAT game day inactive today that will be hard to overcome.

Damn! I hope the rest of your predictions are as good as the ones that have been in play so far. I'll be OK if 11 is off, if that's OK with you. :)

13-3, superbowl champs

This is easy - Superbowl! We've been haunted by our secondary since Samuel dropped that INT in SB42. We should win it now that we have arguably the best CB in the game. I also expect Gronk to play the whole playoffs, hope it's not too much to ask.
