Tyms played like he really wants it.
Love the kid sky's the limit and you know if he blows up he can be retained cheap because he will be an ERFA under control for two more years.

FYPFY. :)

Why are we talking about Dez Bryant on cut-down day in the Pats' cut-down thread?

I'd consider the Cowboys as another potential landing spot for Mallett. Also mentioned Texans and Rams yesterday. Bills since signed Orton.

I want Mallett for Sam just to see the internet break.

I'd be all over Mallett to the Rams for Ethan Westbrooks

Speculation of pats signing stephen hill, would you give him a chance?

Last year, sure. Right now, no.

If he clears waivers, I'd consider him for the PS.

Why? He have hands of stone!

Patriots release rookie offensive lineman Chris Martin, per @shalisemyoung. Hadn't been cleared to practice after starting camp on NFI.

Still need 1 more move.

Has to be either Barker or Devey.

Free agent Stephen Hill's player rep ripped the Jets following his Saturday release.

"He didn't have a chance that first year with that whole Tim Tebow-Mark Sanchez fiasco," Hill's rep thundered. "His second year, Geno Smith was learning how to play quarterback. So they never threw the ball deep because they wanted to simplify things for Geno." Hill's rep made no mention of his drops or knee issues. The agent went on to say he expects the Browns to place a claim on waivers. It makes sense on paper, but Hill didn't give teams much, if any, positive film to go on.

I was also thinking the same for the browns to go after him

No, I don't think I would. Inability to catch a football is something that's going to take time to fix, and we have 5 WRs on the roster that are clearly better than him. However nuts Dobson drove us last year at times, Hill is worse, and all evidence suggests that that's his permanent state of being (unlike Dobson).

He's not *wrong* - Hill's two years were basically a carousel of garbage quarterbacks. But if he'd actually caught the few balls that came his way he would still have a job. There's blame to go around, but most of it falls on Hill himself.

In any case, if Hill, his agent, his mother, and the other 3 people who think he can play are serious about blaming the Jets QBs, then they should be happy. The Jets still have **** quarterbacking, and will for the foreseeable future. At least now he has a shot at winding up somewhere with a competent passer.

I heard last night that Aldon Smith is allowed to be with the team during his 9 game suspension. I wonder what the diff is?

The NFLPA specifically negotiated with the league for the exception in Smith's case.

Most media folks I saw yesterday think it should be like that across the board (i.e. players who screw up in the offseason need structure and support, not a vacation). I agree.

The most notable NON-cut at this point: Barker.

@MarkDanielsPJ: We have about 2:15 until the deadline, so things could change, but at this moment I can confirm Chris Barker is still a member of the Pats

With 10 OL, historically overweight roster-wise, you'd think the shoe would drop on either him or Devey. And Devey has versatility and got more playing time.
