Patriots Cuts: Boyce, Bequette, Worthy, Beauharnais...

There's always one shock. There has to be one, shirley.

Likey DT Eatheyn Manumaleuna, OL Barker, put OL Chris Martin on a list. Only a couple to go beyond those.

I disagree here. You're telling me a guy as versatile as Patterson wouldn't fit here? Doesn't Belichick preach all the time how much he loves Versatility. Can you imagine what Belichick would do with a guy like Patterson's talent? Patterson is a guy who excells in special teams(Can change a game at any moment with a kick return TD), can take end arounds and run 80 yards for the TD with his blinding speed, and can take a slant reception and turn on the jets and take it 80 yards for the TD. He's a big playmaker, a game changer, he has so much talent, SIZE, and speed, he can take it to the house everytime he touches the ball. Can you imagine having a # 1 like Patterson on the team and combining him with slot WRs like Edelman, Amendola, and a TE like Gronkowski? Our offense would be unstoppable. Our special teams would be instantly better.

Why is it that some people seem to think only short, slow, hard working possession WRs can make it in our system? There are some big, fast, extremely talented WRs out there who could learn the system just as well, and turn our offense from very good to unstoppable. Patterson, in my opinion, would be that guy.

Dobson isn't short or slow. So I'll raise your Patterson with Dobson, Jamie Collins, Boyce and a year of Blount (and the pick we'll get for him in 2015).

Dobson, despite his injuries, had more receiving yards than Patterson last year. Patterson has great size and speed, I agree, but the knock against him has always been that he can't run routes more complicated than "run to the Buick and turn left."

I'd rather have Collins straight up - throw in the rest and the Vikings got the very short end of that trade, imo.

4 i think. 75 - 53 = 22.

we currently have 16 cuts and 2 suspended players (Browner/Tyms) so that is 18. only 4 more to go i think.

Martin, Maneri, Manumaleuna mayhap? (Plus the less mellifluous Barker.)

And, BTW, let's not forget that the Pats likely couldn't have gotten McCourty if they took Bryant.
There's always an ESPN narrative around the Cowboys. It's usually entirely fictional.

I have friends who are Cowboys fans in TX. They were hearing it a lot even from non-ESPN sources.

In any case, I'm sure TFB would have been thrilled with having to take timeouts because Bryant didn't know where to line up.

Three UDFA rookies remain so far: James Morris, Malcolm Butler, Eathyn Manumaleuna.

If Morris is healthy it looks like we have two internship winners this year.

Say what you want about Dez Bryant, but don't you think it's a little foolish when certain patriots fans say they would rather have Brady throwing the ball to Tiquan Underwood, Chad Jackson, Josh Boyce than Dez Bryant? That's ridiculous.

Anyways, I have a lot of hope for this season. I think we can get over that AFC championship game hump, and get back to the superbowl this year.

In a hypothetical world where the Pats drafted Dez, that means they don't have McCourty. I'm happy with the pick that they made.

I'm thoroughly on the fence about that. Bryant is a pretty much universally acknowledged superstar receiver, McCourty is a safety who some think is an All-Pro and others think is merely above average. It didn't work out badly for the Patriots but I'm not sure I agree that it worked out well.

I love Mccourty I'm a huge fan but I'm a do over I Trade for Bryant.
Actually In a do over I trade my entire draft to ensure Mccourty and Bryant are both Patriots.

Am I correct in my assumption.... NE will be guaranteeing 55 salaries: 53 who make the game 1 cut and the 2 suspended players.
Only vested veterans have salaries guaranteed. Anyone eligible for the Practice Squad, for example, can be released without cost, other than signing bonus.

Can you please start a Dez Bryant thread outside the cuts today lists?
Thanks.

Why in the hell is Dez Bryant, let alone Chad ******* Jackson, being discussed on this thread? Neither of them are currently on the Pats and/or in danger of being cut.

Anyway, if I had to peg any of these cuts as a surprise it would be Beauharnais and Worthy....but even then it's a huge stretch. Most of them have been expected. Still waiting for the other shoe to drop though

One name to watch: Washington cut RB Lache Seastrunk, their 6th round pick from Baylor. He's got good hands and speed to burn out of the backfield. Most importantly, he gashed the hell out of the Patriots in the first preseason game.

They are at 60 now. 15 cuts so far. Browner/Tyms do not count against roster at this point.

Who thinks McCourty is merely an above average safety? (Triumph doesn't count).
