So Bruschi is back doing chats on ESPNBoston.com this year. He had one today with some good information. I put things that I found interesting below.

Link

You'll like this one, @Rob0729. On if Brady has enough weapons:
I do think Tom Brady has enough weapons. I think they'll still be productive at the beginning of the year, even if Rob Gronkowski doesn't play. Watch out for Tim Wright. It's entirely possible that he can catch 70 balls, especially if there is no Gronkowski for the first couple of games. Wright has good hands and works hard to get open. If you're looking for a fantasy sleeper pick, he may be your guy.

On the trade of Mankins:
What you do as leaders -- first you reflect on your good friend and teammate not being there anymore. You shake your head for a minute or two ... and hopefully it's just a minute or two because you have to move on quickly. That's hard to do. It's an emotional sport played by emotional men. I remember resenting Bill Belichick...

On the end of his career:
Every Patriots player will eventually have a discussion with Bill Belichick about their end. I was no different. It was basically this: Coach Belichick said 'We think it's time.' I said, 'Coach, I agree.'

I remember when it was time for Bru to go. There was a play where he had coverage. He was 5 yards behind his guy and seconds later 10 yards. After that play, Teddy knew it was time to go.

Ya, If I remember correctly it was in the pre-season. He wasn't even close to coverage on that RB. Bruschi knew he didn't have the legs anymore and called it quits at the right time.

The other part that was interesting was Bru trying to change BB's mind. Pretty amazing the level of trust he had in BB's honest assessment of his ability to still play the game. No BS..No politics..

I do wonder....if BB felt Mankins was still playing at an elite level, would he still ask him to restructure his deal?

Funny..he didn't the the legs anymore but climbs 20k foot mountains and runs the Boston Marathon for fun. I wish I had those kind of "burnt out" wheels. :p

As I said in another thread (many people may have bailed because we kinda hijacked it), I have been outed. Yes, I am Tedy Bruschi.

I have always said great minds think alike.

As for Bruschi retiring, I remember watching him getting burnt bad on the play described above in the last preseason game he played and thought the end was near. I didn't know it would be a few days later.
