There is nothing to spin, and your comments are nothing short of ignorant reeked with assumption that I condone what Patterson did. Like you, I don't have all the facts. Unlike you and others in this thread I'm not so full of myself to sit here and say the man doesn't deserve a chance to redeem himself, and Idzik should tread carefully with his actions, because the locker room will gain even more respect for Idzik and Ryan if the situation is handled with a healthy balance of discipline and opportunity for redemption, all the while leaving the possibility of retaining Patterson, unless a greater opportunity becomes available for the team.
Im pretty much exactly in line with KRL's post, this story isn't over, Idzik needs to do right by the team, Patterson isn't some scrub player, he does have some ability, but the situation deserves proper handling with both the angle of salvaging the player or moving on.
There is also a matter of position with regard to making a move to obtain his replacement, especially via a trade, if he releases Patterson today, he loses some leverage in trade negotiations, but hey, carry on with your chest thumping and holier than thou position on this as if you never made any mistakes in life and wouldn't want the opportunity for a second chance!!
