Apparently they were in the group stretching that included Brady, Revis, Chandler, Edelman, etc. Seems to be the group of players that aren't playing. I'd figure if they were on the bubble they would be seeing time in this game.

As a special teamer, part time Safety (especially on running downs), I kind of like Chung.

As full time Safety expected to be one of your top DB's. Not so much.

I can live with both...as backups. But only as backups.

Vellano as well.

Large group of Pats in a workout that suggests they aren't playing: Brady, Mallett, Wilfork, Chandler Jones, Ninkovich, Amendola, Edelman...

Jeff Howe ‏@jeffphowe
...Collins, Ridley, Vereen, LaFell, Revis, McCourty, Arrington, Wendell, Connolly, Solder, Cannon, Develin, Slater, Vellano.

Also anyone thinking Ridley is on the bubble he was in the group too.

It could also be injury related couldn't it? But I'll echo as everyone else is saying, Chung is fine as a situational player and as long as he's within 10-15 yards of the line of scrimmage.

EDIT: Nevermind, if it were injury related then they probably wouldn't have traveled.

Tim Wright is warming up on the field.

Tim Wright is on the bubble? Already?:)

While assumptions on who is made the team and not playing can certainly be drawn, I'd say history and BB's penitent for making a collective fan base simultaneously screaming WTF with roster spot and cuts, will prevent me from reading too overly deeply into who playing and not playing.

Hey, you can't win if you don't play. 95% of those who don't play the last game make the roster.

I think that was another Mike Reiss media creation, much like Harrison moving to TE, and some other head scratchers over the years.

I completely agree. Overall I like Mike Reiss, but he's good for one head scratcher a season. Which, given the fact that he works for ESPN, only one head scratcher a season is a huge step down compared to his other fellow ESPN employees.

Mike said he was looking for a surprise cut. He made it clear that he was doing it specifically because of that. This wasn't Mike heading to Vegas and betting the farm on Ridley getting the axe.

If we really believe that's a "locks sitting it out" list, then Vollmer is considered relatively expendable? Yikes.

Gotta love that BB needlessly trades away his best OL and keeps the two worst starters, when axing them would have freed up more money than he was trying to get back from Mankins. Way to hold a grudge, coach!

But, I'm really crossing my fingers here, does anyone have anything on Bequette ???

My GUESS is they will probably put Vollmer in as a LT to protect Jimmy's blindside and give him some time at that position. They don't want Jimmy getting hurt after all. But we will see.

"Hold a grudge"? You mean against Mankins? Huh.

Is the idea that BB had a long-simmering plan to take revenge for Mankins' holdout by signing him to a hefty long-term contract with a $20 million signing bonus, then in the later years of the deal when his performance no longer matched his salary to trade him to a team that needed a guard badly enough to give him his full huge paycheck for the year?

If only somebody would hold a grudge against me like that! :D

Vollmer isn't dressed.

I love the lengths people go to defend their teams.

Defending? I haven't said a word about whether I liked the trade. I was just baffled by your "holding a grudge" comment. Seriously, what did it mean?
