I didn't want to discuss this publicly but I believe the worst has happened. The corresponding Twitter account went dark at the same time the account did here - with no further Tweets since - and my efforts to reach them first via PM, email, and later via phone after some significant research also came up empty with the mailbox full and later disconnected.

It's very sad due to my relationship with them and their presence here. It's certainly missed. :(

but ...this is the interweb...we're all supposed to live forever....depressed...

Same thought here, since there was at least one thread in the past about how ____ ______ used to post here and everyone was trying to guess his user name.

Unless there's another former poster who works for ESPN.

Makes me think of the time Curran posted under "Prentice McCray." Think SMY and Bedard were the only writers to actually post using their names. Bedard has a whopping total of 2 posts on this site, IIRC.

Want to say Chris Price does too but can't remember.

So wait….you think the worst has happened with Mo? Are we also talking about other posters besides Mo? I am really sad and shocked to hear this. He was one of my absolute favorites. Was he ill?

Ian, by "them," who are you referring to?

He was an older guy, from my understanding. Very sad, if true.

Well, this just sucks. But a complete disappearance from all forms of social media at once does point in that direction. Man.

I am sending good thoughts out to Mo and his family, wherever he may be. :(

I think it was just meant as a gender non specific pronoun for Mo.

Exactly.

Not that I'm aware of. It was sudden and despite all my pleas and emails, which I later followed up with phone calls since I had the address, etc. as that account was a VIP supporter as well. All indications, along with the sudden end to the Twitter account at the same time, point to the worst :(

As I said, I wasn't going to say anything but due to the thread I felt it was finally time.

Thanks, Ian. I had wondered from time to time where he went. I'm glad this thread was started even if the probable answer is depressing to contemplate.

I'm aware of others, although one came via PM when they requested I close their account before they passed...that was tough. It's definitely hard to think about but on the other hand I'm thankful to have been a part of their lives in some small way. :(

It's hard to think about stuff like that but it is a reality when you are part of a community like this. I've been here for almost 10 years and that is crazy for me to think about. A lot happens in 10 years. :(

I actually genuinely sad about this. This thread is so weird because just last night I was thinking about Mo. When I saw Deus and Dabruinz going back and forth in the Mankins thread I just remembered that they were some of the posters who kept me interested in this site before I joined because they are never afraid to stand by their convictions (which caused lots of arguments) and it reminded me of Mo as he was one of those members too and I always liked his posts. I just happened to wonder where he was and hoping he would come back. Very sorry to hear the news.

I know. If Mo ever liked or quoted one of my posts, I felt like I must have made a really good point. If there was ever a poster who I agreed with nearly all the time it was him.

Ian, I think you should still consider your idea -- I think you mentioned it last year -- of having an actual event for those of us who can attend. That would be a blast, and a real eye opener.

Actually, wouldn't the team help sponsor it? They should make a facility at Gillette available to us.

Ugh, that sucks man. Sad news to hear. If it helps deal at all I think it's worth saying that they derived a lot of enjoyment from the community you created and it was something that clearly meant a lot to the person.

I've already been looking into this and while the team wouldn't necessarily be involved, if we got a lot of people from here, it would be relatively doable from a cost standpoint. I'll probably know a little more over the next few weeks, but I agree and I got a PM from someone else here who actually reached out and had also suggested it. Hopefully I'll be able to put something together.

Pats1 now works for ESPN and so cannot post here because of a "conflict of interest" stipulation. Don't ask me who he really is as I cannot reveal that information (per his request); I think Ian is the only other person who knows.

Good to know he's getting paid for his hard work and love of the game.

Well, some of us have got to the age where we spend a lot of time living in the past -- or remembering hating on Patrick Pass.
Lmao didn't BB say (in that book his friend wrote can't think of the name) he hated that guy but the players loved him? I remember him as a poor man's Kevin Faulk.
