yeah...must be Ben Violin

it's this guy: "veteran NFL reporter Jason Cole reports..."

01 ~ Considering that the vast majority of "Skill Position" Players actually remain very close to their Pre-Draft weight, your assertion that "Height and weight for a year and a half ago are about as useful as combine 40 times." is ludicrous, to put it kindly. As I said: "Tim Wright, unless he's beefed up considerably from his College 6030/219, is a Split End."

02 ~ Correction: Not "everyone" wanted to switch Harrison to Flex End. I was adamantly against it.

I was mainly talking about weight, which can change most definitely. What evidence do you have that their weights don't change? Have they weighed him since then? It certainly isn't ludicrous for a 6'3 guy in his early twenties to put on 10-20 pounds. It just isn't. A 22 year old isn't physically mature yet. You don't have to be gymrat to realize that. So to put in kindly Brother Grid, I think you are wrong re: weight.

And on 2, you've been on the board long enough to know that everyone doesn't mean every single poster.

You're the TE guru and I bow to your considerable knowledge (and I mean that sincerely, not Internet sarcastically) and I'm not going to question you on Flex/Split or whatever. But either way the Pats obviously have an idea on how they would like to use him.

The link from weei.com cites Jason Cole from The Bleacher Report. There is another link form nesn.com that refers to Volin.

why?..because it's upsetting to ME!!! No one cares about MY feelings!!

you brutes...

BTW...I detest Jason Cole. I am a lifelong Dolphin hater. He was a decade long sphincter pimple for that scumbag organization.

Looks like the same source possibly: "Ben Volin of The Boston Globe reported, citing a league source"

Looks like BS

Bigger, stronger receivers, emphasis on contact, ability of receivers to run free, plus spreading the field and having something like Gronk, Edelman, Lafell, Dobson, Vereen out there = lots of quick passes before the pass rush has a chance to get near him.
I'm saying increase the amount of passes by adding additional ones that takew advantage of all of this and happen so quickly they can't lay a finger on Brady.

We haven't seen Gronk on the field yet but if the refs treat him like every other receiver has been treated he becomes nearly impossible to cover.

Of course I would be upset too. You just traded away the heart and soul of that OL, for no immediate improvement to this year's squad. (maybe some help next year in extending guys) Pats really should start thinking about going all-in for a season because once Brady is gone, cap savings and 4th round picks aren't going to bring in rings.

I wonder if all the players that are "pissed" about the Mankins trade would've been willing to all take paycuts to retain him, since they care so much about him

Yep, may as well go all in and ignore the fact that there will be a team long after Brady is gone and it just might be possible to win a SB without him. QB's like Russel and Joe F'ing Flacco have done so.
