Seahawks, Carroll fined $300K for contact in practice

Despite his flirtatious relationship with the press, "everyone loves Pete, because Pete loves the press", he has always skirted the rules... his escape to the NFL came on the heals of the NCAA wising up to his USC shenanigans..

Pete should hire prostitutes for his players to get in fights with...

Sounds like Sherman was being Sherman and the hawks are being made example of. Familiar song during the Goodell's tenure.

Common side effects of Adderall include:

Restlessness
Aggressive behavior
Uncontrollable behavior

I might just being wearing a tinfoil hat, but I have to wonder if this punishment is partially to promote parity. We all know the spygate punishment was a bunch of bs, and I have read saints fans who argue things along the same lines about bountygate. Both controversies came after superbowl victories by each team. Does Goodell like making an example of the strong teams to allow to league to catch up?

That being said I am not sure how much losing two practices and $300K will hurt the hawks. From the article it sounds like the team is only charged $200k of that, and Pete is charged $100. I wonder if the $200k works against their salary cap.

Does anyone remember what the Jets were fined for having coaches at "Jets West" when they weren't supposed to? I'm sure it was a slap on the wrist at most, another example of Goodell going over the top with one team (Seattle) whilst ignoring a transgression by his former employers?

Weaksauce.

I like the way Pete runs the Seahawks.

%&^$ da police.

Or for the tripping, or for the video taping, or for the tampering. And that's just the jests. The league seems to come down hard on random teams and then it's business as usual. It's like those lazy parents that let their kids misbehave 75% of the time and then flip out promising severe punishments.

It certainly feels that way. I'm not sure if it's intentional or not, but it's pretty clear that justice is harsher for successful teams.

I love how some here claims to these great facts that only great teams get punished. But also completely fail to give any proof what so ever of this. If it's so clear that only good teams get punished then give som proof of that. Shouldn't be so hard to find if it's so clear. The Jets where fined $100,000 for the tripping.

Vs 750k and a first round pick for having a camera man wearing the wrong attire for his location or whatever made up reason differentiates what the Patriots were doing from everyone else... Oh and the whole deal with Saints players having their suspensions vacated... Nope no evidence.

Carroll, Payton, Belichick...all have two things in common (besides their coaching skills): they are aggressive when it comes to the rules. They've built teams that know how to win and that other franchises find threatening. When they get caught, especially by Commissioner Roger "I love a Scapegoat" Goodell, they get hammered.

Nothing to see here. Move on folks.

Haven't won a Superbowl since minicampgate! Hah!

Someone had to say it... *shrugs*

The league seeing his players all jacked up in mini camp are sending a message to Pete. That they will discipline him for running a dirty program filled with players testing positive for PEDs and mini cocaine(adderall). if his players keep failing drug tests while being dominating other teams they will discipline the coach and team. Maybe suspend him a couple games and fine a draft pick

they were fined last year as well for the same offense...they dont care

Talk about a non issue if there was ever one.

It's "funny" how I haven't seen any media coverage of this. Had it been BB...."CONTACT GATE!!!". Cheaters trying to get an edge at any cost.....o_O
