Shocker! The Green Beans crack down with harsh discipline and suspend one of their starting cornerbacks, although they STILL don't know why he skipped Friday night's game. I'm willing to bet he'll be on the field for the season opener.

I remember when people here were all hot to draft this guy. I never saw the hype. He had hands of stones and couldn't run routes. Yes he was big and fast, but he showed very little that said he could be an NFL WR. He was Bethel Johnson Lite without the special teams ability.

I was one who was intrigued by his measurables, certainly. Sadly he's been Rexed™ and will never recover.

Jets General Manager John Idzik said today that Patterson “will be suspended indefinitely, and that will allow us to gather more information to what led to his behavior.”

...
But the Jets are so desperate for a cornerback who can play that it wouldn’t be surprising to see the team cut this suspension short and welcome Patterson back — and just hope he shows up when he’s needed.

I too wanted Hill, he had the same exact pedigree as Calvin Johnson. He was great in college, playing in a running offense. He should be a perfect fit for the Jets offense. He is big, can block and has the ability to make big plays. But he has been awful as a Jet. Maybe its the uniform. It's weird how getting drafted by the wrong organization can absolutely kill your career. The Pats have too many WRs on the roster now to give him a shot if he gets cut. But I bet Hill's career would have turned out much better if he was drafted by the Pats.

OMG, and they are even painted green! I remember when this happened... but to have the presence of mind to hook it up with the GeNO Train... I tip my hat, despite the fact that now everybody knows how bald I am, much like the guy in the bottom left of this shot, I suspect

Then when he prepares for his starting role to begin the season, they'll laud him for his preemptive forward thinking.

So the Jets bring down the hammer hard on Dmitri Patterson:

The Jets have suspended CB Dimitri Patterson for the remainder of the preseason, but made him eligible for reinstatement on September 1.

In other words, he's not suspended. Patterson likely wouldn't have played in Thursday's finale to begin with. Patterson would have been released were he a less-important player, but the Jets can't afford to shed any bodies at cornerback. What remains unclear is Patterson's status as a starter, but he's more likely than not to be in the Week 1 lineup.

He must be crushed that he cannot play in the last preseason game. I know most veterans who have been in the league for almost a decade live for playing that fourth preseason game. I can't think of a punishment worse than this. Maybe they will really punish him and give him a million dollar bonus.

The fat hog toe sniffer is getting desperate....this may well turn out to be cataclysmic ...extinction of the dinosaurs level destruction.

Part of the "undisclosed discipline" might be forced submission to a Wrecks-administered toe-sucking. Which in Jets land is akin to being waterboarded.

heh...you know and I know and we all know that not a day goes by that the Dirty Sanchez does not think about the BUFFUMBLE. His only redemption would be to throw for 500 yards on a Rex Ryan defense. May we all live to see this saga of redemption come true.
