Logan Mankins Traded

Another thing I hate... why do this trade when the preseason is about to be over? Should have gotten Wright earlier for training camp and preseason reps... this sucks on so many levels

Happiest Patriots Player: Jon Halapio
Saddest Patriots Player: Josh Boyce

The Wright thing is probably a schiano reccomendation....

£60M on Di Maria......oy vey. Will he play at centre back? That's what you need.....
unfortunately they also needed pace. Can we just sit back and laugh while Van Gaal spends the next 2 years trying to fix moyes' mess?

Oh you are one of those people think that they didn't need Di Maria. Guess you've haven't watched Young or Valencia the past two seasons.

But those 2 have played wing back this season, Di Maria is not a wing back by any stretch of the imagination.

Moyes' mess? It's Ferguson who left them with an aging team with some over rated young players (Tom Cleverley...).

It seems as if Halapio has flown under the radar this camp. Typically "under the radar" is the preferred place to be for OL (especially interior). Is this the case? Does anybody know how this guy has been doing? Could this trade be a sign they saw positive things?

Brady was sacked 40 times last year, second most in his career. I'll see how this year plays out first before making proclamations.
I don't think that is ENTIRELY the Oline's fault.

Brady lost his 3 best receivers from the previous year (Welker, AHern, Gronk) and didn't have as much trust with rookie WRs. He held onto the ball longer (understandably)

It's nothing but a big name signing to appease the Green & Gold brigade. Looking at the formation United have used so far this season, he's not a fit, either at wing-back or in central midfield (far too lightweight). He's a winger. Nothing more, nothing less.

United desperately, and I mean desperately, need a centre back and at least one proper central midfielder.

I guess BradyToAmendola doesn't like soccer?

Was just checking Wright's combine, and he weighed in at 220. That doesn't seem right: in the few Bucs games I watched last year, he seemed heavier than that. Can anyone who follows the Bucs more closely than I do confirm that he's significantly heavier?

Because otherwise, he's much closer to Brandon LaFell than Aaron Hernandez.

And BB still operates like one of the worst GMs one the league. One a stupid move at this point not to protect Brady.

And the Texans fan weighs in. Seriously dude, no one here gives one crap what you think about the Patriots. Belichick has gone to 3 AFCC games and Super Bowl while replacing 49-53 players on his roter, name any other GM who has accomplished that?

Anyone think there was a chance there was a clash between him and new O-line coach Gugelamo or does everyone feel this is strictly getting what you can when you can?

Tough to see Mankins go. Loved his grit, and will always respect him for playing the Super Bowl on a torn ACL.

I will reserve judgment on whether or not it was a good trade until I see how Wright fits in (or doesn't) and whether the interior o-line holds up. One thing I will say is that against a very good Carolina front, the o-line held up great without Logan playing. Small sample size for sure, but it gives me some encouragement.

Good luck Logan!

Kline's only start of the season last year was, arguably, the Patriots most impressive win, 41-7 on the road against the Ravens.

and it was Moyes who sat there and did nothing. Ferguson left the team on top of England and Moyes left them mid table. Blame Fergie all you want but Moyes did absolutely nothing during his time.

Di Maria is one of the best midfielders in the world, though, so there's always that. He's even better than his reputation, since he gets overshadowed by Ronaldo and Bale at RM. If I was a Man U fan, I would like the signing. The money's steep, but we're not the ones paying it.

I think I'd class it as Fergie's mess. He made little effort to replace Ferdinand and Vidic, same for Evra, and he's never replaced Scholes. Valencia and Young were initial successes, but don't frighten anyone. Look at the backline and central midfield - at least Moyes tried to bring in something there (which was a terrible signing admittedly). I don't see Van Persie being there too long, he was nothing other than Fergie's last splurge to make sure he won the league one last time, and Hernandez is constantly linked with a move, leaving just Rooney. And there's little coming through from the Youth teams either, save for the great white hype.

OMG, I just bumped my head on the sky. It's falling!!!!
