Revis will be house hunting soon

BB is going to trade for Boone.

Upgrade from Mankins and gain a TE2 with upside, just wait.

I thought that also, but Boone wants something ridiculous like 10M per year. I don't see the Pats giving him that.

who the **** is Tim Wright?

Greg A. Bedard ‏@GregABedard 1m
What few wanted to admit was Mankins' play had slipped the past few years. This is BB selling high.

This is exactly correct. Still one of our better linemen, but Bedard is correct. He's not the player he was, and probably isn't worth his contract.

Of course, now I have no idea how the Pats plan on configuring the offensive line.

OK...so who plays left guard now?

Interior Oline is going to be scary this year. I hope the pick is decent...

I'd guess Cannon, but who knows. Jordan Devey? Seems pretty clear we're getting Wendell/Connolly again.

Alex boone, please.

My initial thoughts:

Mankins has been in a decline
Mankins makes too much money
Mankins has held out for money and was probably approached about his contract

Tim Wright had a more productive season than all of our rookies last year, he was also a rookie (8 starts, 54 catches, 571 yards, 5 TDs)
Tim Wright does not make much money

McCourty extension will be next major move
Revis extension is now a very plausible idea

I have nothing against Mankins, and while he is probably a better guard than other options on the team, he is perennially overrated and not worth the contract he is playing under anymore. I'm most worried about how we replace him now and what the fact that we signed a receiving TE says about Gronks expected availability for the early games.

I wonder if it will be Kline at LG and Cannon at RG.. Which would even more severely cut into the Pats Tackle depth..

Yeah, from what I have read from training camp reports and about the preseason, the oline is a the place to monitor. Trading a stable player doesnt help...Not to mention his chemistry and relationship with brady.

For WHO?

Field Yates is confirming and Mankins is reportedly not at practice.
