Peyton's penalty is getting a lot of attention, but it's honestly embarrassing. What a total charade. Peyton giving his best go at a fiery Tom impression was just sad looking. What a gomer.

He's such an awkward doofus.

Was it anything else but humorously pitiful to see him strut down to the endzone and do some weak, half hearted helmet butt and his hesitant looking trash talk. All over a hit that was 100% clean. Pretty embarrassing. The whole thing looked completely forced, like it took every iota of his willpower to muster some act.

I hate everything about him, from his weird, awkward looking tap dance in the pocket, to his stupid face.

But...but...but Peyton does light beer commercials, so he is just like me and my neighbor and every average Joe in the US.

Yeah, but having a safety light up one of your favorite targets, then smoking that safety on the next play...well, sorry, but that's pure WIN. Reminds me a of a Pittsburgh game...

Peyton should stick to complaining about his WRs being touched.

If you watched Hardknocks this year, you know DJ Swearinger probably told Peyton to go f*** himself.

It was a clean hit as far as Im concerned. Defenders have to be given a chance to do their job. They can't just let WR's run around them and embarrass them.

and Peyton led Welker right into Swearingers shoulder.

And that's the ironic part of him taunting afterwards.

The hit was definitely clean. I said it over a year ago, I said it in another thread, and I'll say it here: I wish we would have drafted Swearinger. Elam was my first choice but Swearinger was a very close second.

I don't have a problem with Peytie Pie yelling at a defender if the defender deserves it, but all I could think about when I saw the clip was that WW should have run at Peytie Pie and yelled at him for throwing him a stupid little pass into three defenders.

The guy shouldn't have been hitting so hard in preseason, but who knows if he's on the bubble and needs to make a good impression?

Wes Welker shouldn't have ducked his head (if he didn't he probably would have been hit on the shoulder), but he was probably acting on instinct and trying to get down.

But the person who really could have avoided the whole mess was the field general who threw the pass in the first place (or perhaps the coach who put Welker on the field in preseason instead of saving him for the real games ala Gronk).

In any event, sucks big time for Welker, one of my favorite NFL players. I hope he really considers his future if/when he decides to come back yet again.

What I find really weird is the number of people swearing up and down that it was a dirty, illegal hit. Not here, but on Broncos forums, Reddit, etc. WTF where they watching?

Peyton's penalty was dumb because he had no reason to be yelling at Swearinger, except maybe that Swearinger should know better than to level a guy in a preseason game (which would be a dumb thing to say in its own right). That was all Manning's fault leading Welker into the hit.

I keep hearing this but I'm really not sure what people are talking about. On the next play Swearinger wasn't near the Emmanuel Sanders TD. In fact he wasn't part of either of Sanders' TD receptions. It was two other players.

I thought we were bringing up the SB again. Still, not overly disappointed.

I hate the media's crowning him the best ever more than the man himself (still TB > PM imho).

I remember Sean Taylor nailing someone in a Pro Bowl game and most ppl applauded him for it.

Pre-season there is even more reason to make a statement, because you're setting the tone for the season and/or fighting for a starting spot on the roster.

Don't you think you think you are being too harsh? After all his teammates are now calling him the Sheriff (Roscoe P. Coltrane).

What the heck was he yelling? Sounded to me like he was hollering "Cut That Meat!"

No wonder the refs lit him up.......

The minor league bad guy that was the puppet of Boss Hogg as two bootleggers with a fast car beat him every week? Seriously? If I called him that it would be an insult.
