I like the optimism in this thread, but I doubt St. Louis would give up much for Mallett, who is highly overrated by this board. Mallett has not shown he a good NFL quarterback, and maybe not even average. He has "raw skills"- big whoop- so does every other QB that makes it to the league.
I would be more interested in signing Bradford when he is cut. If Brady does get injured or nears the end, I believe that Bradford is a rare opportunity to get a top-line quarterback relatively cheap. He has been very good with below average players around him on offense, and the Patriots are one of the few teams that could afford this type of project. Bradford did play for Josh McD, so I'm guessing that he could work well within the system.
