Season Ending Injuries around the league

Belichick tested mallett on friday night, so i am guessing if brady had to sit for a few weeks bill will call upon him. Mallett knows the offense more, it's as simple as that.

In the grand scheme of things, it comes down to one question. Which of the following does Belichick feel more comfortable with:

(1) Mallett as #2, Garoppolo as likely inactive #3, –or–
(2) Garoppolo as #2, an extra depth player at another position (likely inactive on game day), and an extra draft pick?

If rams do enquire about mallet, will come down to compensation. If BB gets a worthwhile pick then he will trade him instead of letting him walk next yr without anything. He will sign another veteran if needed .

Garopollo has shown me more in 3 preseason games than Mallett has in 3 years. Mallett just looks so uncomfortable running this offense, which is all about a quick release, and accuracy. He has neither. Wonderful arm though. If Garopollo had Mallett's arm strength he'd have gone high in the first round. Garopollo just seems to have the IT factor, calm, cool, has touch on his passes, puts the ball on target most of the time. Mallett doesn't give me that warm fuzzy feeling when he's on the field. Every time I see Garopollo on the field, I'm as calm as he is, I just know he's going to show improvement every time out there. Just keeps getting better.

Jamie Collins gave Cam Netwon hairline fracture in his ribs...you all know the play (obviously not season ending, but didn't think it needed it's own thread).

As a Patriots fan, I can't help but feel terrible for Ras-I Bradford.

Never EVER trade a promising young QB. They are too valuable. I would not let go of JAG for the #1 overall pick next year. There is no guarantee you will be able to find a QB to replace Brady next year even with the top pick. JAG looks like he has a shot to be a franchise QB and that is something you don't give away for a draft pick. QBs bust too often and are too hard to come by so if you think you got one you hold on to him.

Jimmy has looked good but I'm not ready to anoint him a franchise QB yet. Then again you never know who will turn out to be the guy. How many people were convinced Brady would turn into 'the guy' after his rookie season?

PS I saw the play where Collins kind of just rolled over Newton to get him to the ground. Looked a bit awkward but was by no means what I'd call a nasty hit.

So hairline fractures to the rib take only a week to heal now? Because the reports say he should play by week 1. I don't know about you but if I fractured my rib I'd probably want it to heal proper before taking football contact!!

Yeah, at the time it struck me as a classic preseason mishap: the injury caused by playing to avoid injury. Newton made an awkward, last-second decision to give himself up rather than maximize yardage, leading to Collins making an awkward, last-second attempt to not hit him full tilt, leading to an awkward, rib-cracking landing.

so that's why I distinctly heard the word "awk!!!!" screamed out from the field...that's some awful awkwardness that went awesomely awry.

I hope BB doesn't get too greedy on the price. Or the Rams will just go elsewhere (Eagles for Sanchez, Luke McCown, Chad Henne, etc.) or they'd just stick with Shaun Hill. It's not like we're their only hope. I'd rather get a day 3 pick and an open roster spot, than play hardball and get nothing.

Conditional 7th for mallett is what he could get most likely.

5th rounder that becomes 4th rounder if Mallet starts X amount of games.

Anything less is almost not even worth it. Anything more is asking too much for Mallet.

Garrapolo for Tavon Austin or Robert Quinn ;)

F*** that. They want Garoppolo, they can give up Austin and Quinn.

And even that probably isn't enough in my book.

I was just pondering the Mallett to STL scenario when reading about Bradford. So they have Shaun Hill to be their QB in that tough division now. Will they make a move to improve the QB spot or tank and grab perhaps the #1 overall pick in the 2015 draft (Mariota?)?

When you've picked near the top as often as the Rams have with so little to show for it, I imagine the allure of that top pick has to dim a bit.

Regarding my comments on Swearinger, at the time I didn't see the hit so I went with his history, which was a mistake, no dirty hit on Welker.

About the Rams, I feel sorry for Bradford, but I agree with those who say he is a bust. He's extremely overrated. I thought the Rams drafted Aaron Murray but I checked and it was the Chiefs, I believe a Rams fan friend of mine wanted Murray.

Well they are screwed, I would go for another direction on QB even with Bustford healthy, he is above average and also injury prone. Now with this injury, they would be the most stupid front office ever if they still keep him.

I believe that Vikings QB have a shot, they are fine with Cassel and Bridgewater.

Anyway, the Rams gotta make a move, with that war zone of a division, although the Seahawks and 49ers have the leverage, anything can happen. The Rams have all the pieces in place, all they needed was a QB. Here's the opportunity.
