Season Ending Injuries around the league

If Bradford tore his ACL, then his Rams career is over. Not exactly a blessing, but their hand needs to be forced here, apparently. Plus, he was the last #1 pick under the old CBA, so possibly the worst case scenario for the Rams was that he plays well enough to justify a new contract... but just barely. He's already being paid like a really good player, and he was never going to accept a paycut from his own team on an extension, so it was always either give him a superstar extension or let him walk. If his ACL is torn, then that makes the decision awfully easy.

I doubt it's that he doesn't care. I think he just isn't as adept as Brady at getting his receivers the ball low and not leading them into huge hits. Maybe it's a mental thing, where in the moment it doesn't occur to him to do that. Maybe he's just less technically proficient at it. It's clearly a problem with Manning's game (and a significantly underreported one), but "because he doesn't care if he gets his WRs maimed" is pretty far down on the list of probably causes, IMO.
I was just being a douche. My analysis was not accurate, I just am not a Manning fan so I took a shot at him.

RT @mortreport: Rams QB Sam Bradford is out for season after MRI shows he did tear left knee ACL, per sources. Rams will announce later.

Haha my bad, my sarcasm detector must've broken for a moment there.

Bradford out for the season. That really sucks for him.

I wonder if the Rams are interested in Mallett?

The time is now to dump Mallett.

Shaun Hill is 34 and proven mediocrity. Why not take a cheap gamble?

If Mallett sucks, he's on the final year of his deal anyway and his suckage helps you get Mariota/Winston.

Sanchez is proven garbage. I'd rather trade for Cousins/Mallett/Glennon then start Hill and know the season is toast.

That douche Peyton always puts his receivers in trouble. Peyton doesn't know what it's like because

1) He doesn't play receiver

2) His giant fivehead would protect him from helmet to helmet hits

For what it's worth, here are the Rams current choices at QB:

Shaun Hill - 34 years old; last started in 2010, going 3-7; 13-13 in 26 career starts
Austin Davis - UDFA practice squad player has yet to throw an NFL pass
Garrett Gilbert - rookie (edit) 6th rounder from SMU (h/t to mayoclinic for the correction)

Cousins isn't going anywhere. RGIII has been at best mediocre and thin skinned. Additionally, his unwillingness to avoid contact puts him a projective IR list by game 8

Really wouldn't put it past Fisher to tank the season for the #1 pick now.
I don't see it happening there is not any Andrew Luck in this upcoming draft.

Adam Caplan‏@caplannfl
#Rams better off trying to get him. Then again, any team trading Rams a QB has tremendous leverage. RT @bragg: @caplannfl Ryan Mallett?

Matt Miller@nfldraftscout
If the Rams are interested in trading for a QB, Mark Sanchez and Ryan Mallett are most likely options to be available.

I'm in the mood for a Sanchez-Schottenheimer reunion and Super Bowl run.

Yeah, Daniel Snyder loves RGIII and has been known to make stupid personnel decisions. I could see him dictating a Cousins trade so RG3 doesn't have to have competition breathing down his neck.

I didn't say anything about them using it. Look at the haul the Rams got for the #2 pick that the Redskins used for Griffin.

Not saying they would get anything as good but some team is gonna wanna come up

Sam Bradford (5 years with Rams)
Guaranteed Money: $50 million dollars

Record: 18-30-1
Losing Seasons: 4 / Playoff Appearances: 0
Games Missed: 31

QB Rating: 79.3 / Completion Percentage: 58.6%

That's what I call a bust.

I am against dumping mallett. If brady gets hurt for a few games, who will replace him? Not comfortable with JAG yet.

Sanchez is proven garbage. I'd rather trade for Cousins/Mallett/Glennon then start Hill and know the season is toast.

Sanchez looked awfully good with the Eagles in a hurry-up West Coast offense that relied on timing throws and not on dropping back and reading defenses. I think his shoulder injury and the ridiculous way he was used by the Jets (including the Tebow circus) set him back years.

Fisher might do a much better job with Sanchez. He's better than Shaun Hill and the other guys the Rams have.

Bradford reportedly tore the "ACL that replaced the ACL that Bradford tore last October", according to Florio:

Report: Bradford done for year with ACL tear | ProFootballTalk

That suggests that he was coming back too fast, before it was fully healed. Shame. Also something to think about with how the Pats are easing back in certain players recovering from ACL tears.
