Brady - Edelman Combo and WRs

Just throwing this out there......But anyone think Amendola might be on the trading block the next two weeks? $5 million+ for their #4 WR. JE is locked into a starting slot, and I love me some KT and the physicality he brings.....and Lafell/Dobson have their unique skill set. I love the depth....and this feels like a season that NE is all in....but could BB pull on his accounting cap and start rationalizing $$$ to value?
Maybe BB can flip a surplus OL before the season and gain chips....or a TE??? A surprise move is coming...it usually does.
No, I don't believe Amendola is on the trading block. Amendola will have a good season.

My favorite part about how good those guys look right now?

They have even more reinforcements on the way. Gronk and Dobson have yet to play, both will drastically change the coverage across the entire offense, you're stupid to not double Gronk and Dobson's physical traits command a better corner.

I'm expecting an offense that schematically looks like 2007's spread, just with a tight end who deserves the name and a much better running game. There won't be a Randy Moss out there, but every position after that will either be at least equal to or more likely improved compared to the 07 team.

KT + DA + AD > Gaffney/Stallworth

I see more of a 2004 offense than a 2007 offense. This group lacks the incredible dynamic presence of a Randy Moss. Instead, this is a deep group with several guys who can play a role and depth at multiple roles.

Amendola + Edelman = Branch + Brown
Thompkins and LaFell play the Givens role
Dobson = Patten
Vareen = Faulk
And Gronk is the X factor.

If Amendola plays in every game and gets hot then it would be tough for Edelman to get 100 catches. Amendola had 13 catches by halftime with Sam Bradford at QB. With Brady and Amendola building chemistry it will be tough for Amendola to reach over 100 catches once Brady starts looking for Amendola more in the short passing game.

According to his game log he played every game in 2011.

I do not think it matters who is on the offense if Edelman is effective with his opportunity I see no reason why he cannot catch 110 footballs for 1200 yards. This preseason he has 10 catches on 10 targets, obviously that will not sustain through the season but if he can increase his catch ratio and yards per catch he could be more effective with less opportunity. It is also worth noting in 2013 Edelman was targeted on a lower percent of Brady’s throws than Welker was in any of his seasons with the team.

Sorry, I had it confused with another 120 catch season. But if Amendola plays, he is building more chemistry with Brady. If he gets hot it will take catches from Edelman and make it tough for Edelman to catch 100 passes again while competing with Amendola who wants to get to 100 receptions himself as well.

I agree, at least against the Panthers it was much more controlled. Short passing, pretty much in Brady's wheelhouse.

LaFell's hands are not very good, if Dobson can come back LaFell moves down the depth chart.
