Giselle brings home the bacon for the Brady bunch

I'm not saying his motives were altruistic. I'm not naive. The man got a lot of money up front. But I'm certain the team went to him rather than the other way around.

I thought it was reported that Brady did go to them.

It's still not applicable. I'm not saying Tom Brady should give up money for squeaks and giggles. I certainly wouldn't suggest Giselle turn down sponsorships because of their wealth.

I've said from the first post he COULD sacrifice money to make the team he plays for better situated to sign other players, as he has done his whole career. You've continually tried to make this a conversation about something it's not. There's no comp to Bill Gates, or Microsoft, or your grandmother, or me or you. You can compare Tom Brady to other athletes in salary cap'd leagues, but that's about it as far as this conversation goes.

We're talking about something that is very specific to the NFL. Whatever you want to bring to the thread from outside that realm really has no bearing.
No. You said 5 million means nothing to Brady. THAT is what I am discussing.
The examples are relevant because of what you said.
You said he should take less because of how much money he has. Shouldn't every player in the league take less if it is all to help the team?

huh?...oh, I see...you're the same age approximately, eh?

still, I can really spin a good fish story now and then anyway...

AJ, here's a link that you might find useful:

Hyperbole - Definition and More from the Free Merriam-Webster Dictionary

Familiarize yourself with it, and it will save you a lot of time on the internet going forward.

I'm not going to get in some debate over semantics with you. Yes, technically, $5 million is not nothing to Tom Brady. It is a considerable sum of money. No, not every player in the league should take less money to help the team. Players should do what make sense for them given all the factors involved. You're right, you win, happy?

Did you read the article you linked?

Gisele's net worth is said to be over $300 million and Brady's over $120 million.

Diminishing marginal utility for money - for them, $5 million is lost in the rounding.

uh...anybody that wishes to diminish a few grand in MY direction is more than welcome...aw hell, why not round it up to a neat 10K...whaddya say?

1. Send a note to Tom and Gisele.
2. Be sure to include your picture with a rescue animal.
3. Wait patiently by mailbox (lawn chair/beer cooler optional but highly recommended)

I think a lot people here are honestly unfamiliar with how ridiculously successful Gisele is b/c most of her work is abroad.

most of her work as a broad??? ..what? ..bad enough you're calling her a broad but you are insinuating sometimes she's NOT?

oh...wait....abroad...(damn, I thought I had another budding socio/political firefight brewing)

Gotcha. You say the wrong thing argue for a while and then say it was hyperbole.
Of course you try to present it as an insult to me.
Classy.

Gisele Bundchen makes more money than Tom Brady - The Week

Giselle is definitely the bread winner for the family. She earned 47 million from 2013-2014 and out earned Tom by 16 million. However, Tom's not doing too shabby himself having made 31.3 million from 2013-2014. Nevertheless, God has blessed the Brady clan and that's wonderful.

Right. Both sides win. I never said otherwise.

But, specific to your earlier points, you were worried about a scenario on Brady's side where his value diminishes. Kraft said he was worried about a scenario where Brady's value outreaches what the Patriots would pay for them, once he played out his original contract. This article does not support or address your argument.

My bad. I forgot that there was someone who policed this board and tried to make sure everything on it was 100% literal. Are you kidding me? Is this a peer reviewed science journal? No, its the internet, and a message board for a football forum. Of course I can say things for effect. Get a grip.

My point was simply that Brady & Giselle are finically comfortable, and saying $5 million to them is NOTHING intended to get that across. I maintain that $5 million to Brady is less a motivating factor than the team being good. I maintain that Brady probably doesn't worry that much about a few million at this point in his life, knowing he and his wife are going to continue making gobs of money in many different ways. My evidence is that he continually takes less money so the team can sign guys. Your evidence that he feels otherwise is something to do with your grandmother, who I'm guessing wasn't a star athlete or high end super model worth several hundred million dollars.

I regret using the word "nothing." I didn't realize it would upset people that much. I think people are being rather silly about it, but I regret disrupting the thread.
