Tony Gonzalez: Denver Broncos will go undefeated, win Super Bowl

Gotta agree with FTW. The loss of Danny Trevathan will have a huge impact on the Denver run D. Trevathan was huge for them in the middle last year after he replaced Woodyard. He led the team in Tackles and forced fumbles. They expected their 4-3 to be devestating with Miller, Wolfe, Ware, Trevathan, and Knighton leading the way. They don't really have an adequate replacement for Trevathan that I know of..

I'm also not sold on the Broncos O-line. Ryan Clady is returning from a Lis franc injury. Ramirez didn't have to face the likes of Wilfork last year. And the rest of the interior of the O-line isn't anything to write home about.

As for running the ball, Denver doesn't have Moreno anymore. Ball has issues holding onto the ball (3 fumbles, 3 lost) on just 120 carries. Hillman is a poor man's Branden Bolden.

I wouldn't be surprised if Denver wins only 9 games this year.

Although I think they get at least 10-11 wins barring Manning hitting the age wall hard or getting injured, I agree with the question marks.

I will add Talib. We all know he hasn't been able to stay healthy at all the last few years, but he is in a similar boat as Browner on the new emphasis on illegal contact. Talib is another big CB who mauls WRs in coverage to gain position and take the receiver out of the play. This rule is going to hurt him too. At least the Pats are lucky that barring an injury to Revis, the most Browner will be is the Pats' #2. And if Browner can't adjust to the rules, they have other players who can take his spot as the #2 CB and not miss a beat.

I was mixed on re-signing Talib from the get go because of his injury history and his very small sample size of being elite. But this new emphasis has made me damn glad that the Pats didn't re-sign him and he went to Denver. Revis can cover without excess grabbing because he has great skills, mobility, and instincts. Plus Revis has always gotten the superstar treatment when it came to calls. He used to get away with so much when he was with the Jets.

I think that the Broncos secondary is a question mark. Unlike many, I don't buy the hype that is T.J. Ward. The guy they have pencilled in opposite Talib is coming back from ACL surgery, though that may not mean much. Rahim Moore is mediocre. And the Broncos CB depth behind Harris/Talib is questionable at best. Yes, whomever their "STAR"/SLOT corner is will certainly have lots of practice going against Welker, but it's definitely an area that can and will be taken advantage of. Especially with Trevathan gone..

I guess someone needs to go all Bill. We're only trying to go 1-0. The only focus is on the Panthers right now.

I agree about Ward. He is very good vs. the run, but struggles in coverage. With the new emphasis, teams are likely going to be passing more. And with the Broncos liking to get into shootouts, that could spell trouble.

If gonzo signs with Denver I am gonna be honest. It does worry him. We can cover WRs okay but TEs still would give us trouble. 2 TEs like J. Thomas and Gonzo. It would be hard to stop even with our D.

In my opinion, the health/ability of Welker and Sanders are key in regards to their O. Provided that the former can return to the near the level he was during the start of last season, then that will be a big asset to their O. If, however, he enters this season looking like the player we saw at the end of last year, then defenses can fear him less, and shift focus towards DT/Sanders/J Thomas.

Sanders isn't a bad WR, and I think that his numbers go up playing with Manning, however, he's smaller than Decker, and seems less durable to me.

If both of those guys aren't healthy/dependable, than that O goes from being a juggernaut to being one that's a lot more manageable.

I wouldn't give much thought about Gonzo's comment. He sounds like one of those newly retired NFL players turned sports analysts trying to grab attention by making some bold yet useless comments. They will play the niners at home and Sea hawks and the pats on the road, 3 of the top 4 super bowl favorites. It's unlikely that they can win all three games.Once they get into the playoffs, then Manning will do what he always does and choke away his last chance of winning a super bowl.

At the beginning of every year it's the same thing. Nothing but talk and talk and talk about Peyton teams (first Colts then Donks) and I guess we're all supposed to just forget or ignore that we've already seen this movie before.

Spoiler alert: Peyton will lose in the play offs after NOT going undefeated.

If, IF this happens, then Peyton is back in the discussion of greatest QBs.

19-0 is like trying to climb Everest without bottled oxygen.

So Denver is going back to the SB and beat Seattle?

How many snaps are you getting Friday night?

Why do people think that Gonzalez would sign with Denver? Denver already has Thomas, Tamme, Green, and Konz. Konz is the best blocker. Green is versatile. Tamme is a Manning favorite.. As is Thomas. As it is, Denver runs more Multi-WR sets than it does Multi-TE sets..

Denver is in the same boat as New England. They're good for at least 11-5 or 12-4. The Broncos, Patriots, Packers and Saints have a significant advantage over the rest of the league when considering the Quarterback position. All four teams have finally realized that to maximize that advantage, a significant investment in defense was needed.

It won't surprise me to see all 4 as division champions with a similar record. The 2007 Patriots team was lightening in a bottle. I don't see that in the Broncos. Instead, I see the Patriots roadblock (Colts closely following) to a Super Bowl return.

Can someone fire Tony G already?

Well there goes the rumor that Gonzalez wanted to play for the Pats.....obviously he is trying to get a roster spot on the Donko's......Denver will be a good team...so will we.....Really stupid to make long term predictions like.....this and he should have stopped at if they can stay healthy....because horseface is one hard hit away from a career ender....and Welker is pretty shaky as well....apparently serious concussion syndrome.....guy should retire! GO PATS....

Don't forget Talib and his gimpy hip.....

Then of course as the injuries pile up NFLN and ESPN will talk about nothing but how poor unfortunate Peyton would be unstoppable if he had a healthy team.....

"How can you beat this team?"
Apparently Gonzalez must have been in a coma on February 2nd.
