BB designated you to choose the final WR spot between these 2 players.

Make the call and justify.

why would either one of those guys be the final wr.

Amendola, Mintron, Dobson, Thompson, Slater, Lafell, if we carry 7 tymms, if we carry 8... lol we are not carrying 8 WR's

Not enough evidence on which to base the decision.

Cut both and attempt to get both on the PS.

I would pick Boyce, but then I'd cut him for another position, lose him to waivers, and put Gallon on the practice squad to get more depth at slot receiver, who should pass through waivers. The question then is, who do I keep Gallon or Tyms in week 4 if a WR gets injured. I won't even try to answer that, because it's a hypothetical question contingent upon my non-answer to your hypothetical question that assumes there will even be a choice to make between these two.

As others have said--if the true nature of the exercise is to choose between Boyce and Gallon, I can't imagine that we'd actually have anyone in their right mind who would choose a late round rookie who hasn't practiced, and has no knowledge of our system.

Boyce. Gallon was my preseason long shot binkie, but that was before he was sidelined. I loved his game in college. I'd try and stash him on the PS.

Neither. Boyce had a drop followed up by a block in the back penalty against the Eagles. Gallon should go to the PS

The title of this thread should be “who should the 53rd spot on the roster go to?”

Boyce for now until Tyms gets off suspension! He is a high draft pick with potential (unrealized to this point). He plays much slower than his reported 40 time.

That penalty was a bunch of BS.. He barely touched the player in the back and the player took 3 steps before LUNGING and missing the tackle..

I presume that we are discussing the mythical 8th WR spot that is waiting for Tyms after 4 weeks.

In any case, the choice is Boyce, who has a chance at the roster because of special teams play and some knowledge of the offense. For me, I would put neither of the 53.

The recent practice squad rule changes bode well for the possibility of Boyce making the PS, which wasn't the case a few days ago. Of course, many here feel that his odds would only be about 50/50, but that's often the case with a handful of players that we're hoping to cut and keep in developmental roles.

I wouldn't choose as I expect to waive both and (try) to sign both to the PS.

Exactly, but wait Tyms out for first 4 so... <drum roll> Boyce

I don't know why some of you are talking about Tyms right now - it's not a choice between Tyms and anyone until after week 4.
