Tony Gonzalez: Denver Broncos will go undefeated, win Super Bowl | Shutdown Corner - Yahoo Sports

"If they can stay healthy, how do you beat this team?'' Gonzalez told Newsday. "They're balanced on both sides of the ball. They can run, they can pass, they can stop the run and they can stop the pass now on a consistent basis. It's going to be very, very tough to beat them."

I have decided to cancel all my subscriptions to NFL related media since i now know who the eventual winner of this years SB is . Also, I am off to Vegas to bet all my life savings on the Broncos.

Screw Tony Gonzalez.

That's not that crazy.

Well there goes the rumor that Gonzalez wanted to play for the Pats.....obviously he is trying to get a roster spot on the Donko's......Denver will be a good team...so will we.....Really stupid to make long term predictions like.....this and he should have stopped at if they can stay healthy....because horseface is one hard hit away from a career ender....and Welker is pretty shaky as well....apparently serious concussion syndrome.....guy should retire! GO PATS....

That's not that crazy.

They have to go through the AFC West, Indy, Cincy, and the Pats. They have nine games this year against 2013 playoff teams. Their schedule on paper is brutal. They had a relatively easy schedule last year.

I wouldn't be surprised if they start the season with a loss (against Indy) and are 1-2 by the end of week three since they are playing at Seattle in week 3. I wouldn't bet on it, but it definitely wouldn't be shocking.

Predicting anyone going 19-0 is crazy. Since no one has ever done it and only one team was ever close. It is a crazy prediction no matter the team and then you add Denver's schedule into it and there is going to be at least one loss on their schedule. I say four or five myself.

This isn't a way for Gonzalez to start his media career. Making grandiose statements that are near impossible to happen only makes him look like a lightweight. He is going to look really foolish if the Colts beat Denver week one.

Even if the Broncos go 19-0, people will think he was just lucky than prophetic.

Plus, chances are, Peyton doesn't get another gift-wrapped 63 degree day AFCC in January again. Let's face it, Peyton lucked out on that.

Look at how he was in a cliffhanger in their first playoff game at home against a pedestrian San Diego Charger team in 41 degree weather.

He's a year older than Brady and is visibly wilting (though still football smarter than any QB alive). With or without miracle 63 degree days in January, he will melt down the stretch.

Here's a prophetic statement for Gonzalez: the Patriots with a healthy Gronkowski will beat Denver in the Playoffs.

.....and Mayo....and Wilfork.....and Kelley....and Amendola.....and Vollmer.......and Dobson......and not having our #1 CB knocked out early in the game.

Will there be injuiries? Of course there will. But the amount and severity at key positions last year is highly unlikely to be repeated. Just as unlikely as how everything fell in place weather-wise, etc. for the Broncos.

Unless Tyms gets in there, Brady ain't throwing to rookies this year. Other than Lafell, he's working now with people he knows. It's a whole new ballgame.

Plus our #1 CB is better than their #1CB. ;)

Denver had an extremely easy schedule last year against alot of dregs of the NFL....this year they have a much tougher schedule.

I mean, gonzalez expects them to beat BOTH the seahawks/Pats back to back? on the road? if they do then all props to them. But I expect Denver to have a much harder time this year.

not to mention, I expect Aqib Talib to get injured at some point as he has the last 2 years.

As much as I hate to quote Berman..."and thaaaat's why they play the game"

come on Tony...you know better dude...

Good to know - this is useful information. When is the parade?

Will they be cancelling school the same as the Eagles cancelled school in 2004??

Denver did deal with their fair share of injuries last year (Von Miller, being the most notable), however I do agree that a LOT of stuff went right for them (especially in regards to how banged up/weak the other AFC teams were), and it also bears noting that Welker was the only guy in their receiving corps who entered the playoffs with any significant injury, in contrast to ours, where nearly every major receiver save for JE was dealing with some sort of health problem. Furthermore, the defensive injuries the Pats suffered were even worse than the Broncos.

If Gonzalez predicted that Denver wins the SB, I wouldn't find it too insane. After all, they are the defending AFC champs, and defensively, they improved (on paper, at least). However, as other posters have said, their schedule, and the other variables of football (whether, health, playoff draws) make it almost impossible for them to go 19-0.

Denver can run the ball? They let Moreno walk and Ball hasn't been that good since he entered the league.

They're also not as good at receiver as last year, Welker will just get less agile, more injured and less reliable at this point and Sanders has issues with his feet.

And you forgot, there is a chance that Aquib Talib spends his third straight AFCCG on the sidelines with an injury, but this time it won't help the Broncos.

well i guess we know which team gonzo is going to sign with in week 14. i hope it blows up in his face.

I was JUST going to make my 2nd, annual, 16-0 bandwagon thread....and then I see this. Blasphemy!

Just how the hell does he expect the Broncos to go undefeated, when we're going 16-0?
