CBS Pittsburgh's Colin Dunlap reports Le'Veon Bell and LeGarrette Blount were arrested for possession of marijuana Wednesday, while Bell was also booked for DUI.

Cue the "Blunt" jokes.

Beyond that, it sounds as if Blount is as hardened a criminal as Kevin Faulk.

Well, the good news is that they have a cohesive RB room....

Yeah but Ridley fumbles...

Wonder what Goodell is going to do after giving Ray Rice 2 games

Ray Rice fell under a totally different punishment, which had nothing to do with the substance abuse policy.

That said, yes--they are probably looking at 1 game no matter what, and that may be due to the fact that the Steelers step up and punish them, which will satisfy the NFL as well. It's not like this is really that big of a deal or something that we don't see happen all the time in the NFL. First offense, etc.

As a matter of fact, if the Steelers themselves don't suspend them each for a game as they did with Santonio Holmes when he got caught, their lawyers will likely push this off until the end of the season anyway.

It seems as though that douchebag, ex-lawyer Florio agrees with my take as well:

"While the DUI would remain an issue for Bell, a first offense usually results in a two-game fine; marijuana possession routinely triggers a one-game suspension. Meanwhile, the police officers in and around Pittsburgh have a reputation for not being overly aggressive when it comes to Steelers players."

I think they either suspend them each for one game from a team/organizational standpoint as they've done in the past, OR they let the situation play out in court where it will be postponed until after the 2014 season, and they can deal with the 1-2 game suspension from the NFL in 2015.

I'm guessing the BB mindmeld on Blount finally wore off.

NFL needs to stop punishing players for marijuana immediately.

No matter what you think, It is still against the Law. Fight for repeal if you want.

I don't condone DUI at any time, too.

The laws are slowly changing... edging towards a semblance of practicality and reason.

I'm not a politician, and I don't have the time or energy to FIGHT for my beliefs in regards to this issue. And so I didn't make my post from a literal "let's do it!" standpoint, but I strongly disagree with punishing anyone for marijuana, whether in the NFL or a grocery clerk.

I understand if you get in trouble for a DUI, or if you get in legal trouble... and it is neither time or place to argue about it's medical merits or anything of the sort, but if a player smokes too much and it effects his performance, he will be cut anyways.

The "if it's a law, it's the law." mentality is totally baffling to me from citizens in a country that calls itself "free."

Anyways, sorry for this rant, because my posts turned out to be about the general topic of marijuana law rather than this particular issue with Bell and Blount.

So much for the belief that smoking pot doesn't make you anymore stupid.

I predict tomorrow's headline in pittsburgh
