Although he admits there will be "temptation" to return, Tony Gonzalez insists he's retired.

Gonzalez acknowledges he's already been contacted about a comeback. "The temptation would be there, but I don't know what the gain would be,'' Gonzalez said. "I've always wanted a ring. ... But I'd be a mercenary to come in and get a Super Bowl ring, play with a team for, what, six, seven weeks?" Settling in nicely to his new role as a pundit for CBS Sports, Gonzalez has predicted the Broncos will go undefeated this season.

Tony Gonzalez: Broncos will go undefeated - Newsday

He seriously thinks the Broncos will go undefeated this year? That's all I got from this link.

The Broncos are:

Week 03 @ Seahawks
Week 09 @ Patriots
Week 11 @ Rams
Week 13 @ Chiefs
Week 16 @ Bengals

If the Broncos win all of those matches, it's highly unlikely they'll be beaten in the Super Bowl. Conversely, I see the Seahawks and Patriots both beating the Broncos.

More often than not, I'll tip the team with a potentially excellent D playing at home.

Especially when those teams are 24-8 and 29-3 at home, respectively, in the last 4 years (And the 4 year random timetable really hurts SEA's recent history, but even as a bad team they very rarely lost at home).

Seahawks average half a loss at home in the past 2 seasons while NE averages about 3/4 of a loss per season at home in 4 seasons.

Goodluck on that prediction, Tony G.

Broncos had nearly as many injuries as we did last season. In addition to talent they added they get 2 elite players back and several young talents returning. I could see them favored in every game but to actually win them all is a different situation. I could see them being favored in all their games and they probably should be as well as favored going to the Superbowl but being favored for 19-0 is a tall order regardless of talent. Favored teams don't always win.

I'm not a fan of signing gonzo. He is sitting down on a network and his talent will eventually decline. Signing him his another trip to the well. I like Jermichael Finley. He is 27 and in the best football condition of his career due to all his rehab work and training to get back on the field. Some say he shouldn't play again when seeing his neck brace. However his own and NFL docs have cleared him. If there were danger of reinjuring himself they would have advised him not to play and risk injury like with David Wilson. He is sending his injury report to every team as well as a pro day style workout to prove he is by far quicker/more athletic and more explosive than ever. He is just 27 and has been great in both pass catching and blocking. And now he is faster/ better than ever. Couple that with playing with Brady and he should have a career year. As good as Rodgers is, Nobody makes pass catchers better than Brady. How would Rodgers do with the Pass Catchers Brady has thrown to. Jermichael and Gronk could be NFL's first duel 1000 yard TEs. Think about it Finley is more necessity than luxury. If Gronk is injured that leaves us with no proven big pass catchers that can make that consistent intermediate catch at 15-20 yard range snatching those tough catches at that range. As much as I love Kenbrell and Dobson, neither are proven to consistently snatch those tough catches at longer range over the middle. I think they will have great seasons but even if they do, another elite TE would be awesome in that 2 TE set and even better than last 2TE set we had. Especially if Gronk is injured. He is then a need as the Other TEs are below average.

Gonzalez must know Goodell, the officials, and the so-called "Competition Committee" (a/k/a Manning Ballwashers) pretty well.

Dont care what ppl say about the Young WRs we have, if Gonzo wanna join us after 8-9 games, we take him and run with it. 3 WR sets or not. Gronk / Gonzo together flanked with Dobson...

Any team that didn't contact Gonzo was not doing it's due diligence. The Pats always to the their due diligence.

The Broncos have to play the NFC west right? Undefeated? Ya ok

I would hope we contacted him (we'd have been remiss otherwise), however it sounds more like the writer is implying that the Broncos did.

I'm really starting to dislike the Broncos team I would like nothing more than to see the Broncos disappoint this year 9 and 7 and a wildcard loss would throw Cold water on their season.
The NFL rules to bend and mold for Peyton are sickening here's hoping when the games matter that the refs keep some flags in their pockets.

Thinking back to Gonzalez against the Patriots last year - the new emphasis on contact probably would've helped him tremendously in that game. He was unstoppable against the Patriots until they took 2 guys and basically wouldn't let him off the line of scrimmage.

You don't see many games where a guy can demolish a defense the way Gonzo did the Patriots until they sold out to stop him - pretty memorable stuff.

Because then again, the 2007 Patriots say "hi".

Anyone who says the Broncos are going undefeated probably isn't bright enough to understand our offense.

It also explains why he has no Ring. He can't scout teams very well, either.
