Manziel gives "Washington's NFL team" the finger

you guys are beating this dead horse into a blood splotch...look, the REASON it's a big deal is BECAUSE OF MANZIEL himself. Johnny freakin' Football...grinning coked up jackazz sending out tweets and acting like a spoiled little twerp, showing no respect for anybody. HE'S made himself this easy target, now he's getting the slings and arrows of bad fortune rammed right up his chocolata freeway.

If it was anyone else presently in the league, even Sherman, I doubt there'd be this level of discussion. Jeezus, even Sexy Rexy's finger waving didn't approximate this.

In light of what you've seen so far and this kid's character, how many wins do you see on the Browns' 2014 schedule? Cleveland Browns Schedule 2014-15 - Sporting News Two? Three?

This has Ryan Leaf written all over it. To put this behavior in perspective, this is a pre-season game with some starters and a lot of 2nd and 3rd stringers for 30 plays or so.

This is time in the sand box at pre-school. Once a guy shows you can get to him, the intensity ratchets up.

If he lost his composure in August on the road, what happens when he's at Cincinnati in November with the Browns' playoff hopes on the line, or in Baltimore in December in game 16, with the Division or a wild card on the line for the Ravens?

You can bet that every defense he faces will talk non-stop smack and will go out of their way "give him the business" after the whistle, when they sack him, or when they get him to the sideline.

In the words of another poster, what did Cleveland do to deserve this?

You consider the finger disgraceful?
OK. No point discussing further we are in differnet hemispheres on this

Just having fun with you saying the finger means nothing in 2014.

Though I personally wouldnt push that theory in Roxsbury after winning say, a game of pickup.. ;)

SCENE I. Verona. A public place.

Enter SAMPSON and GREGORY, of the house of Capulet, armed with swords and bucklers

SAMPSON: Nay, as they dare. I will bite my thumb at them; which is a disgrace to them, if they bear it.

Enter ABRAHAM and BALTHASAR

ABRAHAM: Do you bite your thumb at us, sir?

SAMPSON: I do bite my thumb, sir.

ABRAHAM: Do you bite your thumb at us, sir?

SAMPSON: [Aside to GREGORY] Is the law of our side, if I say ay?

GREGORY: No.

SAMPSON: No, sir, I do not bite my thumb at you, sir, but I bite my thumb, sir.

Manziel is quickly becoming one of the most hated players in the league. Would love to see Hoyer win that job and hold it down. Shouldn't have let him go. Mallett sucks but that's a discussion for another thread(s).

I remember a game where Welker could be heard calling someone a '****ing ***got'. Sportsmanship and 'class' are a fairy tale.

This kid is going to be fun to watch whether he's a success or self-destructs.

I think you're thinking of the game he said "you ****ing suck" to the Colts after he got the game clinching 1st down in 07. Which I don't think you can blame anyone for doing. **** the Colts.

No no! ESPN has breathlessly assured me that all of America is clamoring for MOAR Johny FOOTBALL!!

It would be a bad life decision (potentially) to give the finger at a corporate picnic for example.

And add up photos of rolling bills in the mens room and giving a finger while NFL cameras are rolling and you could conceivably cost yourself a few million off the ceiling of what teams might have been willing to pay you.

Advertisers and sponsors also tend to pay less for chip on the shoulder rich boy images.

But then again, after a certain point once you have a certain amount of money whats the fun of having it you cant say f-u once in a while.

James Clavell called it exactly that in Noble House "f-ck you money".

Pretty much everything that happens on a football field would be a bad decision if you did it at a company picnic.

Going under center doesn't fly at company picnics.

I routinely grab and twist the balls of someone in a pile at corporate picnics.

The fans pissed on BB.

The team hired Mangini after his traitorous act.

Eff Cleveland.
Before that, in like 1962, They ran off Paul Brown - who the fricken' team was named after - for the young Art Modell. It is no coincidence that when he started the Bengals in the AFL they basically had the Browns uniforms with the word B-E-N-G-A-L-S on the plain orange helmet.

I remember Marino flipping off the fans behind the Dolphin bench in Foxboro after he threw a pick back in the 80s. It was on TV clear as day, but of course in those days without social media, etc.
it didn't even get a mention.

This is REAL SIMPLE

Would you do this at work?

Manziel was at work doing this.
