How in the world can PFF grade players during TC, during which most of the drills are non-contact,
against teammates, and in pre-season games against other scrubs?

If it's anything like their regular season grades, they're probably just pulling names out of a hat and picking grades off a random number generator.

Because PFF is garbage and its grades mean nothing, so they're easily dished out.

Random noise. But even a blind squirrel gets a nut ... Interested to see if Tyms plays with the big boys fri

Just a thought. These 91 page threads are absurd. I work and don't have time to wade through 99 page "official" threads. How bout letting people post their thoughts and trusting readers judgment to decide what is interesting? This official thread thing has gotten much worse over past two years and is making the board unreadable and inaccessible. Moderators please soul search.

Lol, is that Butler or Finch at #29 over on the left? The difference between Gronk and Jones is noticeable, but from Gronk & Jones to #29 is... very noticeable.

29 is Finch

I believe Butler and Finch are both number 29, but the official site lists Finch as "29w" and Butler as "29b", which I assume means white and blue, so that probably is indeed Finch there. Man he is a little guy in comparison. You think he makes the team, though? I think so too, I feel like he offers more than Boyce does right now.

We've tried it the other way. It is worse.

not probably..it IS Finch...he looked in sync all practice but sprained his ankle right at the very end it looked like...maybe nothing, we'll see.

Finch is listed at 5'7". Even compared to Brady's pygmies he is a smurf among smurfs.

A smurf indeed.

I don't know about everyone else, but I get the feeling BB will really want to keep Finch due to his versatility, which as we all know is one of his favorite traits. Seems like he has a real vested interest in Finch particularly. He could potentially be a very good KR, has pretty good vision as a change of pace RB, and can run decent routes and work out of the slot as a receiver, so he can fill a lot of holes, which would be good reason to keep him and actually have him active. I could just be imagining it, just get the feeling he won't be cut, or will at least be a very tough cut... I don't see the same level of interest in Boyce, i.e. no BB-Boyce butt slaps that I can recall...

Sometimes I feel as though it will come down to Bolden vs Finch, and other times I think they both make it and we keep 5 RBs.

Either way, I suspect that you're right and it'll be a tough decision no matter what. If he makes it or is cut and goes to our practice squad, we'll have a couple of steps up on next year's RB situation when all of Ridley, Vereen, and Bolden (RFA) are all free agents. White, Finch, and even Gray are all there to add to the possible rebuilding situation at the position.

MY DREAMBOAT!!!

I just mean to make the point that Finch isn't necessarily just the "5th RB", he is also a more than capable reserve slot receiver and of course the starting KR. I've come to view him to be battling Boyce more than he is battling his fellow backs, simply because Boyce would only be seeing the field in a reserve role too, but at least Finch can also run the ball effectively as a change pace. More bang for your buck.

"Bill Belichick had a handful of players re-enter the practice setting Monday after missing various amounts of time, including Easley, Jerod Mayo, Tavon Wilson, James Anderson, Michael Hoomanawanui, and rookie Jeremy Gallon. Newly-acquired Patriots Jerel Worthy and Ben Bass were also practicing for the first time after spending a few days with the team."
