I think WR Jeremy Gallon might be a little too late to the dance...hope he makes to our practice squad.

@DougKyedNESN: Patriots LB Jerod Mayo has returned to practice. Twitter can calm down.

C Bryan Stork in pads what did BB give these guys ultimatums are something?

He told them you can't make the team from the trainer's table

No indications anywhere on what the issue is, right? I'm guessing it was a personal family matter. If it was injury related, something would have popped up somewhere.

Lee Schechter tweets:

Bryan Stork has returned to practice and is in full pads.

Jerod Mayo has returned. He's in full pads after missing three practices and the Eagles game last week.

Hooman and Jerel Worthy also here in full pads.

Both are in full pads. "@SullivanJojo: @LeeSchechter As is Gronk and Easley ?"

Players missing: Williams. Gordon. Vollmer. Kelly. Chris Jones. Siliga. Martin is in sweats.

@cpriceNFL: Malcolm Butler just had a really impressive PBU on a pass for Gronk. Knocked the ball away cleanly. Nice play. #Patriots

DL Jerel Worthy starts well in 1st Pats practice. Watched him win all 3 of his pass-rush reps (final 1 w/spin move). Surprised by quickness.

My initial prediction is Worthy is going to stick. He was a stud in college.

It could be quite the pickup - I figured there must be something wrong to get him so cheap.

@DougKyedNESN: Malcolm Butler has already forced a fumble against Gronk and picked off Brady in 3(DBs)-on-2(WRs). #TheLegendContinues #Patriots

If I squint really hard I can almost see a 4-3 with Worthy-Easley inide and Nink-Jones outside.

Malcolm "Lock" Butler being his normal lock self.

My hope is that Worthy becomes who we all wanted Armstead to be.

This Malcolm Butler guy...damn. Easy to hype players in TC but this guy is something else.

I'd be fine with that on 3rd and longs to give Kelly/VW a nice breather. Especially if that breather ends up lasting for the ensuing punt , offensive drive, PAT, and kickoff. :D

Honestly though, Worthy was drafted where he was for a reason, he's a good player. He's been derailed by injuries to date. If he can recover, which is a huge question, the Packer's obviously don't feel as if he can or they wouldn't have given him up for free, it will give us yet another interior pass rusher.

The position, when healthy, has potential to be an embarassment of riches, or it can crash and burn miserably since every interior rusher is oft injured.

We started transitioning to a 4-3 front with nothing but run-stuffers. Tried and failed at getting a rusher with Haynesworth, a year later we attempted to bring a potential Stud in Armstead into the fold and Kelly looked like the best DL on the team until tearing his ACL, fast forward another year, Armstead is out, but Kelly returns, Chris Jones was a 2013 surprise, Easley is drafted with comparisons to Geno Atkins, and Worthy is brought in as another revitalization attempt.

When healthy the interior DL could be one of the best pass rushing groups in the NFL ...or it could just never be healthy and continue to be a gigantic 3rd down weakness.

I want to drink from the half full glass for now.

If Worthy can shake off the stench from how he was used in Green Bay, that can be a pretty potent DL from a pass rushing standpoint. I wouldn't want to see it against the run, but they should be able to push the pocket nicely.
