Is there a draftee that is so bad that Belichick will make him the first 4th or earlier player cut by him as a rookie?

Some want to cut Stork; some Fleming; some White.

Others think that it doesn't matter. After all, we can put such a player on our Practice Squad for the year with rookie pay.

What say you?

For me, unless a 4th rounder is truly horrible (Kareem Brown), he will get two camps to prove himself.

I'm with, "it doesn't matter." Play the best, or potentially best, players or best values for the cap.

I don't want them to cut any of those three. What I was asking in the other thread is what White has done to earn or, in the case of the thread question, DESERVE a roster spot?

Bolden seems like a better backup to Ridley than White and Finch seems like a better backup to Vereen than White.

He'll get his spot on the roster based on draft spot and how he's looked in practice. Hopefully he looks better in game 3.

White has been showing up in practice...I am sure he sticks.

No, he's going to keep them all.

Didn't you have Stork getting cut in another thread?*

* Or am I confusing you with another poster because of your PUP notion?

No way Stork makes it to the practice squad

What? Which Roy Finch have you been watching? James White is better in just about every way. Plus I think White is more comparable to Vereen anyway.

you have to cut them and then they have to clear waivers before you can add them to the ps

I think they'll keep Flemming and White. I'm not sure about Stork. I see IR, or make the 53 man roster.

I think Halapio hits the practice squad. Also room for Gallon and Thomas on the PS.

James White was really unimpressive he made Philly's D look like the seocnd coming of the steel curtain.

Keeping players who didn't deserve to make the team because they were rookies with potential hasn't worked well so far, so perhaps the concept that BB will give draft picks 2 years to prove themselves should be examined.

Stork to IR is the right move, IMO. But IMO that also increases the diminishing chances he will ever contribute significantly to this team.

Myself, depending on his actual health, I'd take the chance of exposing him to waivers so if he does not get claimed (would a team claim him to the 53 when he hasn't practiced in 5 weeks?) he can spend a year on the practice squad, greatly improving his chance to contribute at some point.

I'm not so big on the idea of keeping him from another team only to find out he never did anything for us.

I really don't think Stork will make it to the PS, should the team attempt to stash him there.

Exactly, that's why I believe he won't make it to the ps, some team will claim him off waivers.

He's a 4th rounder with good credentials coming out of college.

I think there's a reason that White was running with the first team and Bolden and Finch with the scrubs. White may never be a major threat between the tackles, but my impression is that he has terrific hands for the reception and is outstanding in pass protection (unlike Bolden) and he protects the ball and won't give you negative plays (unlike Finch).

In game he's been mediocre at
best. He has 2.6ypc through two games and 1 catch. Although against scrubs, Finch had 9 touched for 71 yards in a half against the Eagles.

White hasn't showed any running or receiving ability yet in game,
that's all.
