I know there are a lot of fans
Here who will defend Ridley
To the end.

The same bunch defended Maroney & tried to defend the
Patriots drafting Ron Brace.

Ridley in my eyes is still the best running back on the Patriots but they will not resign him.

There is no doubt that Belichick does not trust Ridley to hold onto the ball when it counts

Some people are saying that Ridley may be cut, but I don't
See that happening.

I expect the Pats to hold onto
Ridley until another team loses there top back to injury.

I could see the Pats getting a
3rd or 4th round pick to a team like Dallas (example),
If Murray got hurt again.

Last year there was talk through the media of the Patriots trading Ridley to Indy for Trent Richardson. They said that a fresh start may benefit both players.

Do we hold onto him or do
We trade him when the right
Situation opens up?

If we trade him, what do you
Think we get for him????

What? Maroney and Brace sucked. People defending Ridley have good cause for it. Ridley is actually a good RB.

It's going to suck seeing him go to a team that has some tolerance for fumbling a few times a year.

Hated Maroney so much.

I based my opinion of Ridley off what I saw over the last two seasons.

2012: he was a ton ten RB with 280 carries and 1200 yards. only 4 fumbles, more than I would like, but not enough.

2013: tough year, was benched continually throughout the year. But showed his 2012 self in a 4 game span last season (Saints-Steelers games) He still racked up 770 yards only starting 6 games in the season.

The talent is there. I've said it before, his fumbling in 2012 wasn't a problem. 4 fumbles, only two lost, in 280 carries is really fine especially considering his production.

I think BB benching him makes it worse than it needs to be. Totally ruins his confidence and effs with his head.

Lilke @JMC00 said, its gonna suck seeing a team be tolerant with him because given the carries, he can put up numbers.

If we're lucky, we could trade him for a much worse RB.

I would like to trade or waive this Jonas Gray guy!

I'm kind of worried he's going to be the straw that keeps my binky Finch from making the team. :p

Fine, fine I'm just joking. Let us just keep whomever is best for the team.. and in my opinion I fully believe (as well) that that means keeping Ridley -not trading him.

For those of you being really hard on Ridley for fumbling a look at 2013 RBs:
(These are fumbles, not lost fumbles, but recovered and lost)

Ridley: 178 carries 3 fumbles
Blount: 153 carries 3 fumbles

Jamaal Charles: 259 carries 4 fumbles
Alfred Morris: 276 carries 5 fumbles
CJ Spiller: 202 carries 4 fumbles
Reggie Bush: 223 carries 5 fumbles
Ben Tate: 181 carries 4 fumbles
Joique Bell: 166 carries 4 fumbles
Rashard Mendenhall: 217 carries 4 fumbles

Just some numbers there... and here's back in 2012 where Ridley produced 1200 yards for us....

Ridley: 290 carries 4 fumbles

Jamaal Charles: 285 carries 5 fumbles
Reggie Bush: 227 carries 4 fumbles
Lesean McCoy: 200 carries 4 fumbles
Marshawn Lynch: 315 carries 4 fumbles
Alfred Morris: 335 carries 4 fumbles
BJGE: 276 carries 3 fumbles

Fumbling happens. I'm not saying it isn't a problem, but this problem may have the magnifying glass a little close on it. 2012 ridley was fine to me, people complained and that year about 4 fumbles on 290 touches. Last season, the timing of his fumbles were horrible, but still 3 in 178 isn't an insane amount

Houston's 1st rounder all day.

What type of poem is this?

I said he is there best running back on this team, but I would not be Surprised if he gets traded at some Point because it is obvious Belichick has lost confidence in him.

Last year we traded for Blount &
All the geniuses complained about It being a dumb move because we
Already had Bolden.

How did that turn out?

Only time will tell, but I don't see Him getting cut.

For a TE :)

It makes almost zero sense to trade Ridley from anyone's perspective.

You are probably right, because White has not shown much in two preseason games, although he has got good reviews in practice.

Considering that some people are considering him the possible "surprise cut", maybe we shouldn't cover our eyes when the word "trade" is mentioned.

If Ridley is traded away, who takes over the lead back role?

White - maybe too early for him and idk if he's big enough to take 20+ carries a game.
Vereen - might get hurt in doing so, rather keep him as a situational guy
Bolden - has shown he can fill in games when needed but has never blown us away to win the spot for good.

Ridley will have a good season if given the touches

Last year Tampa traded Blount, how did that work out for them?

The Patriots make the smart moves, not the stupid ones.

Perhaps. As with Welker last year, I'm not convinced that letting Blount walk was the smart decision. Vereen and White may be talented backs, but neither is going to move a LB or DL backwards for a yard. If Ridley loses BB's confidence with his ball security issues, our short-yardage running game could be weaker than it was last year.

I agree with you that we would loose an important piece in our offense if we lost Ridley. But the 20+ carries a game back is dead. No one runs that much. McCoy, who had the most runs last year, ran 19,625 times a game. It's a pass first league.

Not trying to be an *******. I just want to change the things we say that are outdated in todays NFL. Lots of old stuff people say that aren't really correct anymore. Like interior pass rushers or coverage linebackers being "third down players" instead of just regular down players.

Okay I still don't know if White's body could handle a 15 times a game load....

You got my point though...
