Just thought I'd take the pulse of the crowd here.

Note this is an anonymous poll, so be honest. :)

I think he makes the roster at this point, but ultimately I don't think he should.

I might be tempting fate, or Karma, whatever, but I don't think the backup quarterback will play a large role in 2014, and I sure as hell hope it doesn't.

I'd rather see another player get the roster spot to develop.

Mallet has no trade value as I see it and unless things go horribly wrong will provide little benefit to the team in 2014 and certainly 0 benefit in 2015 and beyond.

BB does not believe in tanking a season for draft position and neither do I, but BB will be more cautious than I would.

He makes the roster, but he hopefully shouldn't ever be needed.

He will make the roster, although i dont see us having 3 qb's in so intense season.

I think we carry 3 QBs this year we normally have 3 during the transition period to a new backup i don't see this year being different.

The way Garoppolo is playing.... he might pass Mallet on the depth chart before the regular season even starts

im torn......still have to see how the next two games go, and practice......i thought jimmy g significantly outplayed mallett the first game.....and then mallett slightly outplayed jimmy 2nd game......one thing i like about jimmy is that even his bad throws aren't that far off.....whereas malletts bad throws are way off.......they both overthrew tyms.....jimmy down the right and mallett down the left......but jimmy was close and mallett was not.....but if mallett plays like this the next two games, keep him

He will make the roster, as good as Garappolo looks, Mallett has much more experience in this system..
