Well vote it up ladies.

Ridley, so long as his fumblitis is under control.

imo it should be Ridley but I want plenty of depth, just in case he decides he wants to lose his job due to fumblitis. I also like what I've seen from Vereen, White, Finch and Gray. I wish we had 60 roster spots.

Starter - Ridley
Change of pace - Vereen
Back Up - White
Fourth String - Bolden

That's how I view the RB situation.

I hope we don't get rid of Bolden. He isn't a superstar in the waiting but he is a quality backup and proven he can play in the league unlike some of these rookies.

The first down run around our own 45 to start the first was an example of Ridley's superb leg drive through contact. He drives through the process, knocking a LB on his ass on contact after hitting the ground himself. He carries momentum with his sometimes upright running style and tends to fall forward.

He is easily the best pure runner we have at the moment. The problem is his God Damn hands. One tackler on one arm and a second on the ball got it loose after a knee...but God Damn It guy, hold onto the Fu©king rock.

you just hit a home run, Woolster. That fumble was a "Ridley".I've been a staunch backer of his the past few seasons but this is getting routine. That fumble was putrid. Right in front of us.No running back coughs it up like that.

Where can I vote for Anybody But Ridley?
Not only does he have ball security "issues", but he simply does not have the vision of a starting RB
on a SB contender. He is constantly - and I do mean constantly - missing where the best avilable
holes are; he instead runs into the pile, and when you have these aforementioned "issues", that is
an unacceptably lethal combination.

White looked better than average/useful tonight. He's got some wiggle and some drive. Like this draft pick.

Rewatching right now. Got a phone call and had to deal with a grumpy baby after the pats second score. I'll keep an eye out for white, do remember him having a decent return...

Just to check, are there any players other than Brady on this team that you actually don't have a problem with?

If you said I dislike the player because he has fumbling issues I would understand. But when you say he has no vision I completely disagree and so does his ypc.

I agree regarding Brandon Bolden. I see him as the backup lead back to Ridley, although that also comes with the thought that we'd likely spread the carries out more in terms of giving White and Vereen opportunities.

I like what I see out of Finch, and I think it's possible that he makes it, but I don't even think that Gray is in the picture for a 53 man spot just yet. I do hope that we keep at least ONE of Finch/Gray on the practice squad, and I really wouldn't mind if we kept both of them for depth/competition for next year and beyond. My concern is having 2 RBs on the PS, however. I'm not as sure that BB would go for it.

I think that Bolden is OK as a 4th RB. I would chose him in that role over any of the UDFA's.
I don't know whether White or Bolden would be the backup for Ridley. I do think that we should carry all four of our running backs.

Develin seems entrenched as a FB/hback.

BTW, I don't see this logjam at RB. We have 4 solid running backs for 4 positions. We also have a couple of Practice Squad prospects in Fray and Finch.

We do have a decision with regard to whether to have a position for a KR who wouldn't make the team as a position player. For now, Finch and Boyce are possible for that role.

MG, there were 13 kickoffs tonight. 12 of them went unreturned. The NFL has effectively neutered the electrifying kickoff runbacks of the past 7 decades. It sucks as far as I'm concerned, but I'm and OLD NFL fan and not worth Goodell's time obviously. It's all about offense now.Hes relegating special teams to the museum.

First, if teams do not have good kick returners, teams will be tempted to kick up high kicks and hope for a fumble. BTW, I think that there are more returnable kicks outdoors in the winter than in the preseason.

But, I am nitpicking. I agree with you. I would not give Finch or Boyce a roster unless they earn one as the 4th RB or 5th WR. And, unless Dobson pulls up lame, I don't see that happening. To put it another way, Boyce needs to beat out Thompkins or Lafell for a roster spot.

As a longshot, Boyce could make the roster as a developmental player who is almost always inactive.

A couple of months ago, I thought that Thompkins may have held this role throughout the upcoming season. After seeing his progress this summer, I am changing my mind.

I think IF Boyce makes it (which would likely be for the first 4 weeks while Tyms is suspended), it will define this developmental/inactive spot which you speak of. It sucks that we had such lousy depth and talent at the position last year, because while doubtful, there may have been a chance to get him to the PS this year. Unfortunately since he was active so much in 2013, that isn't a possibility.
