Oh, gawd. it's gonna be a long night. Video of the Pats production meeting for tonight's broadcast:

Inside the Patriots Production meeting -- Before the first home game of the season, we take you inside the production meeting prior to the broadcast for Friday night | Patriots.com - Media Center

These idiots are actually planning how they can ignore the game action in order to focus on their "analysis" of players and positions.

Heck, maybe they could just skip the game entirely and stay with Andy Hart and Paul Perillo in the leather recliners. Bring in Mike Mayock to talk about each player's 3-cone shuttle at his pro day. Yeah, that's the ticket!

Just shoot me now.

In almost all cases, the TV sound should be set to mute.

What's really annoying is that preseason is when I WANT them to focus more on the game action. Scrap the analysis and give the announcers more room to tell me who is on the field, what formations they are in. I realize that this is probably asking too much since one of their "analysts" doesn't know the difference between an X and a Z receiver. So just tell me who is coming on or off the field for a play.

I hope NFLN carries the eagles version of the game
According to Boston Sports Media the local version (Patriots) is being nationally broadcast, so it won't be Philadelphia's.

As someone who doesn't live in the area and rarely gets to hear the Patriots' broadcasters, I'm looking forward to listening to them. Seems like there may be too many guys in the booth, though.

Bummer, Ian. :(
If they pan away from the game to listen to that moronic Sam Adams beer owner chirp away mindlessly for minutes again I'll....Wait. The NSA is reading this.

I'll try to wave from sec. 227 at the TV camera, perhaps that will break up the monotony ... o_O

Just an FYI, NFL network always uses the home team's broadcasters for the pre season games.

Bring back Don Criqui!

wow, never thought I would see myself type that.

Well, it was interesting to hear Fauria and Chatham say not to read to much into White taking snaps with the first team in practice.

These broadcasts are strictly amateur hour. They have to be because they're only doing this 3-4 times a year. I guess we'll have to grin and bear it.

One other thing - I know Dan Roche struggled with the play-by-play. I'd give him a break - it's been said that he is one of the true nice guys in the local sports scene. That ought to count for something.

Any football broadcast that includes Paul Perillo in any capacity is a joke.

Jerry Glanville, Don Criqui, Randy Cross.. preseason announcers are all insufferable, had higher hopes for Roche/Fauria... however just have to suffer through it. The first preseason game they cut away to Perillo and the other guy, and that was totally irrelevant...

Mr. Kraft and his team have to figure this out..

The production staff were on the top of their game last week.

Hey, for all you know LaFell and Thompkins caught Michael Jackson's skin disease!

Plus, they actually identified Shane Vereen and not Ben Vareen so that was an unexpected positive!

As far as I can tell, the ONLY people on the face of the earth who read anything into first team snaps in training camp are on this broadcast team or their fellow pundits in the media. I don't think knowledgeable football fans read anything into it.

Don Criqui? Hell, this broadcast crew makes me miss Jerry Glanville...
Jerry Glanville wasn't great, but at times he was pretty entertaining. I almost pissed myself laughing the game where Glanville kept talking about Zolack, a 5, married a 10. Funny stuff.
