I understand the thinking that it's not written in blood as a sure thing, but Florio is always so negative when it comes to this team. I can't stand that dude.
PFT is negative against all teams. Their whole business idea is to make people mad so people post links on social media and forums to show other how stupid PFT is. While PFT wins because they gain clicks. Seems to work quite well.

This one is odd to me. What would be the reasoning in signing a 4th string no-name QB at this point in time?

I've requested a complete analysis on my desk by morning. In the meantime, we have the PF speculation about Mallett's health. Would appear to be the usual tinkering with the fringe anyway with little likely to stick.

If it's from Florio, then that means he heard it from Rosenhaus. Sounds like an agent trying to temper expectations before they get out of control.

actual qoute:
Per a source with knowledge of the situation, Gronkowski’s anticipated Week One availability sits at 50-50, with perhaps a shade above the even-money proposition.
If he isn't ready, perhaps they actually keep some flotsam besides Hooman temporarily, thus weakening another position.

@DougKyedNESN: The Patriots will practice at 9 a.m. tomorrow. The session is not open to the media.

Looks like no camp notes tomorrow.:(

Maybe Mallet is hurt and they need another arm in camp.

This would be the only real explanation, but I'd give it more credibility had Mallett not returned to have a pretty good day. In the meantime, he only missed 2 practices before returning.

I suppose we'll have to wait and see.

Well obviously we're trading Ryan Mallet for Jadeveon Clowney and JJ Watt.:D

Tomorrow is going to be a monsoooooon!

New England Patriots ✔ @Patriots
25,317 fans attended #PatsCamp today - a single-session record!

I wasn't sure if today's attendance was normal. It was my first time attending and brought the kids.

I got in line an hour and a half before the practice start and didn't come close to sniffing a bleacher seat. When the gates opened, it was a mad dash to the bleachers, I seriously thought someone would be trampled. Seemed like chaos.

It seemed pretty even between the Pats and the Iggles. I had a great view of Revis getting beat by Maclin and he definitely looked like he gave up on the play because he thought it was over.

Highlight of the day was some guy yelling out "Butt Fumble" very loudly when Sanchez got the ball. My 8 year old son said, "wasn't that the video you showed me with the funny music", which was the Benny Hill theme.

Per SMY practice will be open to the media but closed to fans...

Video from practice with the Eagles.

Caveat: Its long, shot from a relatively low perspective, and I was getting jostled by my neighbors a lot so its a bit shaky in parts, but like the practice it gets better about 1/3 the way through and the last 20 mins or so are best. I was going to go today for the second practice with the Eagles, but it's been closed to the public due to weather. Perhaps I'll go Monday if I can, but this may be the last one for the 2014 season. Enjoy!

Sounds like an amazing day. I'm just curious how they come up such precise numbers — like 25,317 — for attendance. I've only been a couple of times and I don't remember turnstiles or anything else that would actually count people.

I would imagine they're using a combo of cameras and software, but that is just a guess.

I went to last years joint Pats/Tampa Bay practice and there was no problem getting a bleacher seat. Yesterday's attendance numbers were compounded by the fairly large numbers of Eagle fans. I saw a good of jerseys while looking for a seat

Thanks for posting.

Edelman is such a stud so far this offseason. His route running/separation is easily the best on the team.

Please go Monday if you can! I adore your practice videos!

Intensity isn't here today like yesterday. Will see if it picks up in 11o11 #Eagles #Patriots

Lots of running the ball today for both teams. #Eagles #Patriots

Jeremy Maclin continues to toast Darrelle Revis in 1 on 1s. Looked right at us after beating him as if to say, "You reporters catch that?"

Jeff McLane @Jeff_McLane · 52m
Should point out: I am not under the impression that Darrelle Revis is giving anywhere near 100 pct in these drills. Has little to prove.

Doug Kyed @DougKyedNESN · 30m
Patriots CB Brandon Browner and Eagles DB Roc Carmichael got into a brief shoving match after Browner was overly aggressive in a ST drill.
